Lullaby Lyrics

Send a wish upon a star
Do the work and you’ll go far
Send a wish upon a star
Make a map and there you are

Send a hope upon a wave
A dying wish before the grave
Send a hope upon a wave
For all this souls you failed to save

And you stood tall
Now you will fall
Don’t break the spell
Of a life spent trying to do well
And you stood tall
Now you will fall
Don’t break the spell
Of a life spent trying to do well

Send a question in the wind
It’s hard to know where to begin
So send the question in the wind
And give an answer to a friend

Place your past into a book
Put in everything you ever took
Place your past into a book
Burn the pages let them cook

And you stood tall
Now you will fall
Don’t break the spell
Of a life spent trying to do well
And you stood tall
Now you will fall
Don’t break the spell
Of a life spent trying to do well

Send a wish upon a star
Send a wish upon a star

This song is so beautiful. This is my favorite song off her new album.

For me perhaps, it is a song about realizing that you're human and realizing that you're incredibly fallible and within realizing that fallibility, lies the seeds of greatness. You have to fall before you can fly... it is so beautiful. A song of hope and faith that life isn't perfect and that makes it ok. Thats how it makes me feel anyways. Anyone?

It reminds me not to let life get to me... no matter what.

Wait a second... I think I can see the song differently...

"send a question on the wind, give an answer to a friend"

This could be about prayers.

I agree with your last comment, t bear. She's talking about praying. When she says "Place your past into a book Put in everything you ever took Place your past into a book Burn the pages let them cook" she's talking about a very old tradition where you right in a journal or diary a prayer or wish and burn it. Supposedly the essense of the writing will rise to God. And "send a wish upon a star" couldn't be any mroe obvious. Even if it isn't just about prayer it's definitely about leaving your wishes and dreams to a higher power of some sort.

My Interpretation

i love this song is really peaceful and has a great meaning AND NOW its the theme song for a movie!

I think song kinda means maybe something has gone wrong.....maybe a series of bad events have happened and this person used to be 'good'. It's saying that even thought this 'bad' thing has happened to change this 'good' person. ''don't break the spell'' and try to do well again, don't give up the life of trying to do well. Burn the memories get on with it. In the chorus though it kinda says that this person has done well and now they're going to fall but still not to give up.

Overall I absolutely LOVE this song.

Place your past into a book Put in everything you ever took Place your past into a book Burn the pages let them cook

This part of the song means so much to me to me it means make a book of all the bad things that have happened to you every little bad thing that you can think of and put it all it to a book and burn it because if you write a book based on every little bad thing that has ever happened to you and then you burn it they leave you. Your mind and body is at peace you can live your life without those things on your back weighing you down. I know that’s true because I did it and it really helped me to live my life and be a better person.
