I think "shit happens" is a great description for this song, ha. :)
Although its like everyone was aware of the conflict, as she was too even though others may not believe she was phased by the 'wrong' she committed. "I was there did you see me? frozen in a flash put on the wall."
"But i guess theres nothing wrong with being wrong." After she commits a wrong, apparently someone else thinks its okay to commit one as well and get away with it. She made a mistake and realizes it, the other person(s) believe her to be such a good person to not make mistakes that now that she has, they no longer have to live up to her expectations maybe?

This "thing" is to take it to a romantic level with someone whom you have feelings for.

That was when the other person rebuffed the singer as if to say, how did we get this far as though you have feelings and I really don't have feelings. That's when the singer wants to correct her misapprehension -- her mistake -- about the intentions of the guy that she viewed in a totally different light. But of course, the singer is saying there's nothing "wrong with being wrong" -- at all, meaning it's okay to take a chance and be wrong about someone; there's nothing wrong about being wrong. The guy didn't expect her to confess her feelings for him; alas, "that was when you said you least expect it."

The singer wouldn't question the circumstances that led to the situation, even if doubt creeps in for a second, she can still justify her feelings and choices.
Ultimately, the guy was either totally caught off guard by her confronting him about a possible romance, or the guy kind of cut things off when they were proceeding too fast for his liking. That is my interpretation of it.

This song sounds like it means that they were once in a relationship and it just ended unexpectedly. The girl would still do it over again with the same method, not changing anything
