Worst Case Scenario Lyrics
You got out the wrong side of bed and liked it
The only love you get is unrequited
Morning Monday all week long's not healthy,
But being happy's only for the wealthy.
You can't see past the worst case scenario,
You'd be happier instead if you stayed in bed,
I pray one day I'll live to see you break a smile
Wallow in your miserable mess as you tend to (tend to)
You mastered looking unimpressed ___________
Morning Monday all week long's not healthy,
But being happy's only for the wealthy
You can't see past the worst case scenario,
You'd be happier instead if you stayed in bed,
I pray one day I'll live to see you break a smile
I pray one day I'll live to see you break a smile
You can't see past the worst case scenario,
You'd be happier instead if you stayed in bed,
You can't see past the worst case scenario,
You'd be happier instead if you stayed in my bed!
I pray one day I'll live to see you break a smile
You can't see past, you can't see past.. scenariooooo...

I think it's about the people who try to be pessimistic or cynical. It reminds me of House, and I've done it before. "You got out the wrong side of bed and liked it" and "you mastered looking unimpressed" are the two lines that gave me that impression, and the title of course
the line after 'you mastered looking unimpressed' is 'do i offend you?'
I find this song a tiny bit sinister. Sort of patronizing or something... c: But I adore it all the same.
If they were singing >to< someone then it sounds a little bit like they've just given up on trying to get them to lighten up. Hahah, I know the feeling.
i kinda agree with tom... i don't think it's about someone who's depressed, i think the song is about someone who's moody on purpose and the person singing the song is quite an optimistic person (which is why the song's quite upbeat) who's maybe tired of trying to cheer them up and is just not bothered and a bit sarcastic towards them now... it does remind me a lot of House, and a little bit of Lockwood's (is that his name? i haven't read the book in aaages) first impression of Heathcliffe in Wuthering Heights
Someone who is quite depressive and a bit of a pessimist. I know that "I'd be happier in bed." feeling of "What's the point?". I really love The Hoosiers right now. Thanks to Becky for gettin' me on to them ;)
This song seems almost ironic, its a song which seems to be describing manic depression right down to a T, yet it has a cheery beat.
No, this song represents depression alone, not manic depression. If it were about the latter, then The Hoosiers would've written about the hypo-manic phases, whereas, they describe the lows of depression.
Yea but they wrote about being down then made an upbeat tune, thus the manic depression.
A pessamist who is pretty much always miserable.
