Copaface Lyrics
I'm quick learning lessons from the devil
but can't decide whether I arrived or was contrived
I view so many faces form a tower up above
neglected inner wants and hungers for what I love
cluttered bunched black eyed and voiceless
I fill up the sugar cup to stay up at night in my black upabove
where my face is a moon full of craters
with crummy eyes and cyst-thighs
a perfect beacon for the fictionettes
who spread their legs wide open on the plasma
embodiments of everything i hide about my self today
hips rashed
elastic
crowded
barely wrenched into my upmost ambition for attraction
so I nurse fellow wilted and the withered
shallow love
smut love
our love in my black upabove
my face is a room full of mirrors
with crummy eyes and blistered thighs a bent brain full of lies
a beacon for the fiction body voodoo
embodiments in morbid tense
misplace your grace to chase your copaface
but can't decide whether I arrived or was contrived
neglected inner wants and hungers for what I love
I fill up the sugar cup to stay up at night in my black upabove
with crummy eyes and cyst-thighs
a perfect beacon for the fictionettes
who spread their legs wide open on the plasma
embodiments of everything i hide about my self today
elastic
crowded
barely wrenched into my upmost ambition for attraction
so I nurse fellow wilted and the withered
shallow love
smut love
our love in my black upabove
with crummy eyes and blistered thighs a bent brain full of lies
a beacon for the fiction body voodoo
embodiments in morbid tense
misplace your grace to chase your copaface

AMAZING. not a clue what it means. but i love it.
i think he's talking about fame catching up with him [or certain people] and how all the celebrities he knows have become more and more fake.
and possibly how they take in groupies and stuff?
he's also trying to say that fame shows a different side of him than he believes to be true.
NO MATTER WHAT HE DOES
hes always fully sik!!! :P:P
lovinkk sonny big time!!!
this is my favorite song off the new album.
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/copa
which would make the title "cupface" and fit in with "I fill up the sugar CUP to stay up at night in my black upabove"
Sonny defined copa as an award, or praise.
It's like the whole thing is about being surrounded by people, you just got an award, a huge prize, and you're just in awe with the crowd and how everyone's lionizing you. It's the look on your face after receiving this prize, a Copaface
"I view so many faces from a tower up above neglected inner wants and hungers for what I love"
I think that Sonny feels that once someone's in the spotlight, they can't do what they want or be who they are, Because who they are and what they want isn't what others are expecting. And that goes for him as well.
I think that these songs are about finding what's real.
Sonny describes a Copa as prize or award and that a copaface would be the face you have when all eyes are on you and you have to look like you are perfect and that your life is happy.
Basically what onstagebab04 said: "Sonny describes a Copa as prize or award and that a copaface would be the face you have when all eyes are on you and you have to look like you are perfect and that your life is happy. "
Descibed what a copaface was when he was interviewed on DJ Rossstar Punk Rock Show. It's basically a facade.
My interpretation is that the song's about fame, and sort of describes what happens during it.
"I view so many faces form a tower up above neglected inner wants and hungers for what I love" - High in music stature, I suppose, there's so many people focusing on him that he can't enjoy what he loves to do or do what he wants to do.
"a perfect beacon for the fictionettes who spread their legs wide open on the plasma embodiments of everything i hide about my self today" - Fame=groupies basically, and he sees that they sort of represent what he did to himself, like he sort of sold himself to everyone and maybe he craves the gratification of others, but doesn't like to show that fact.
"misplace your grace to chase your copaface" - basically trying to find that mask to put in place so no one would truly know who you are, and in doing so, losing your balance between reality and fame.
I don't know. I could be completely wrong with this, or maybe I'm right. Who knows. Just wanted to share my thoughts ^_^
so here's what i think, im sure im no where near correct:
he's learning more and more about himself, he can't figure out if he got into fame by his own talent or if he was molded into being an icon.
"I view so many faces form a tower up above neglected inner wants and hungers for what I love" =
he sees everyday people having normal lives, while he's always watching his back with his fans and haters, and he cannot live a normal everyday life, so he tries to ignore everything, and can not have what he wants, or his "inner wants", and he might hunger for that, or hungers for the music, im not sure. dont quote me on this :P
"cluttered bunched black eyed and voiceless I fill up the sugar cup to stay up at night in my black upabove" =
he's like an outcast or something filty, (i just picture homeless addicts for some reason, nothing against them), and he can't express how he feels. the next line reminds me of cocaine, how the "sugar cup" keeps him up at night in his upabove tower..
the next part makes me think of his flaws, and how he hates them and his problems with himself, and how he's lying tohimself and everyone about how he's happy..
the next part i think he's talking about how everygirl he's with theres only attraction, its only sexual and he wants something more, not just what goes on in his "tower".
the last part might be about how he's so hard on himself, and through everything, he still hates himself and everything. im not sure.
ahh i dont know, im sorry this post is so long, imm lame.
