Makes me think of trying not to fall for someone you know you shouldn't because you know you'll hurt them:

I agree with the other comment, but to elaborate on that, i see this song as someone thinking they're too damaged for a relationship and wanting the other person should stay away from them for their own good. Where it says "flutter me by, kick a little glitter into the sky, spark up the stars leave alone my heart" i think its saying that the other person is too good for them "i'm trying to be good by you alright, alright" and they're saying it to be good to the other person
