topically, a song about animalistic lust towards another human being. a "love song" from an almost darwinian perspective.

Great song. Just listen to this song with your eyes closed and let yourself drift away in the song. Is has some tension building up, just like "turn those clapping hands..". in the end you explode. lyrics aside, against me can write pretty good music too
haha, i listen to it when i'm trying to fall asleep. i really do drift away in it. i love this song. it's way different than their other songs but that makes it more unique and less contrived. it just has a feeling to it, sets a mood.

When you read the reviews of the album either they don't mention this one or its a negative comment. True, its not a typical song they do but hey, you've got to put that sort of thinking to the side. The song is great, I love it. The beat is so smooth and the chorus is really catchy. The message in the song is also very true, It reminds me of my time as a bartender and a bar fly. Meeting women at clubs is all about lust, not love. Its all animal instinct and this is what this song is about. An anti-love song. It almost glorifies it. Rock star go through the same thing, sex serves a purpose other than love. Like an animal.

i've read an interview with tom gabel where he says this song is actually written when he wanted to hit somebody in the face really bad, but writing a song about that is pretty odd, so he turned it into a sexual song.
i think this is the worst song on the new album. it just doesn't sound like against me! to me.
