Wishing on the Same Moon Lyrics

I never really thought to say
That whenever you set free
Your devil smile on me
I melt
It's been a long time between
When you first let me in
Got underneath my skin
It's an echoing empty room
Until your love pours in
And fills it to the brim
I never felt the hook go in
Until you came around
And broke me right back down. There's just one thing that I failed to tell you
I'm wishing on the same moon and stars above you
We're wishing on the same moon

Hear me now I'm calling out for you
Pleading for your love
You're falling from my view and there's nothing I can do

I'm waiting in the afternoon
For the sun to sink
And let the night back in
It's when I feel close to you
When the stars they swoon
And bring their night time bloom

There's just one thing that I failed to tell you
I'm wishing on the same moon and stars above you
We're wishing on the same moon

I think it's saying that at the end of the day, every one is equal, we work under the same sun, and sleep and dream under the same old moon

This song reminds me a lot of their earlier song "My Happiness". It seems that for some reason he is far away from his love, and that it has been a long time since they last saw each other. And because of this time, his love is fading; although he does not want it to. And the last connection is this symbol of loneliness, the moon. Interesting that the line "falling from my view" is the girl falling out of love, him falling out of love, and the moon setting; all marking the complete end of the relationship. If you watch the video, the protagonist is searching for the last specimen of his bug collection, a luna (moon) moth. In a way, he is searching to keep a permanent connection through the moon; a part of the moon he can keep with him.
