Don't know if I want you to understand me
Don't know if I want you to understand me
Don't know if I want you to understand me
Or go
Don't know if I want you to see through me
I confess this heavy heart has me on my knees
Don't know if I want you to understand me
Or go
Or go
Or go

Love come and bless me with how to feel
I've been here a time before and it wasn't real
I don't know if I want you to understand me
Or go

Can't blame you dove when the blame is mine
To love and let go was never the design
Don't know if I want to let you see through me
Or go

Even as the my demons leave
Unsure if I want you to see through me
Don't know if I want you to understand me
Or go

i went through a relationship that didn't last, and on the surface it seemed like a relationship that could last. but deep down, i knew it wasn't going to last.

i'm now starting another relationship with another person, and this song means a lot to me right now because i'm just not sure if it's going to be the same sort of thing or if it can last.

i think he just realizes that love hurts. It seems he's afraid to get into a relationship because he's scared of losing his love. He wants love to last.

I think its about someone letting someone else go. He keeps repeating "Don't know if I want you to understand me," because obviously when someone is broken up with it seems they never understand why. He says "I confess this heavy heart.." meaning theres a lot of pressure coming from him too, he's letting someone go, probably for the good of everyone but it still hurts. "The blame is mine," he's the only one realizing it needs to happen. And "to love and to let go was never the design," meaning he never saw it coming and doesn't personally want it but its whats should happen. I don't know, wonderful song but painful lyrics. I love how it's simple too.

although i agree with all who previously commented, to me it seems a little off.. i think the message of this song is simple, beautiful, and one of those incredible songs that put feelings many of us have into words when we couldn't before. this is about love, certainly, but not the loss of it. it's about deciding whether to let someone in, to pull down your guards, or to let it go and move on. this song speaks to me on such a deep level. kenna is talking about that gray area that happens in some new relationships, where you want so badly to be with this one person but at the same time you just want to disengage yourself. at the same time it describes any relationship, regardless of how long it's lasted, still just talking about that gray area. the shadows. the world is not black and white.

    i love it.

i agree w/ the above post.

it's about that time early in a relationship when you kinda panic and you could either totally jump in and go for it and let yourself be vulnerable, or...just build up your walls and choose not to let the person in.

it's unreal how much i love this song. "don't know if i want you to understand me, or go". that's pretty much me, all day everyday!

    i freakin love Kenna:)

Kenna's awsome, but I found this song way to repetitive.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
