It's okay
To breathe as deep as you play
Your future with me is safe
You sing with my heart when you pray
Here you are down at my feet again
Handing it all back to me again
Right where I want you to be again
I love you
Please see and believe again
I love that you're never satisfied
With face value wisdom and happy lies
You take what they say and go back and cry
You're so close to me that you nearly died
Here you are down at my feet again
Handing it all back to me again
Right where I want you to be again
I love you
Please see and believe again
They don't have to understand you
Be still
Wait and know I understand you
Be still
Be still
Here you are down at my feet again
Handing it all back to me again
Right where I want you to be again
I love you! I love you! I love you!
Here you are down at my feet
Handing it all back to me
Right where I want you to be again
I love you
Please see and believe again
Right where I want you to be again
See and believe
To breathe as deep as you play
Your future with me is safe
You sing with my heart when you pray
Handing it all back to me again
Right where I want you to be again
I love you
Please see and believe again
With face value wisdom and happy lies
You take what they say and go back and cry
You're so close to me that you nearly died
Handing it all back to me again
Right where I want you to be again
I love you
Please see and believe again
Be still
Wait and know I understand you
Be still
Be still
Here you are down at my feet again
Handing it all back to me again
Right where I want you to be again
I love you! I love you! I love you!
Handing it all back to me
Right where I want you to be again
I love you
Please see and believe again

Lacey explained this song in an interview. She said it was about a person trying to take on the world and try to fix all the problems the world has but they are only one person and they don't have the strength to take on the world and they fall and come back to faith again.
Gotta love Lacey's interviews; thanks for the explanation :)

this song is firstly just awesome, but it has more to do with a relationship with God. The chorus is about God's joy when we submit to Him, and the beauty of mutual love.
"I love that you're never satisfied With face value wisdom and happy lies You take what they say and go back and cry You're so close to me that you nearly died"
There are a lot of lies, a lot of superficiality that keeps people from God, and He is happy when we recognize all the bull and see the Truth.
The part about being close I think may be referenced to Old Testament stories when those who have seen God were supposed to die because they could not withstand His holy presence.
word
(from their upcoming album. It's gonna be out somwhere between late this year or early 2008.)
This is definitely God talking to his children, telling them it doesn't matter what people think of them, and that he loves when they obey him.
I love this song! It's so awesome, and I can't wait to hear the album version.
I think this songs meaning is it's okay to believe what you want, but know Jesus will always take you as you are.
"I love that you're never satisfied With face value wisdom and happy lies You take what they say and go back and cry You're so close to me that you nearly died"
I guess with that it's saying everything Jesus does for you your never satisfied with it. Then He's saying your not doing enough and your letting what other people say about you get to ya and you feel like Jesus has failed you.
"They don't have to understand you Be still Wait and know I understand you Be still Be still Here you are down at my feet again Handing it all back to me again Right where I want you to be again I love you! I love you! I love you!"
In that Jesus is telling you He loves you and will take you as you are. & to reject and be happy. I'm not 100% sure, but that's what I think.
The part with "I love that you're never satisfied with face value wisdom and happy lies".... I dont think it means we're never satisfied with him... that we're never satisfied with flimsy, untrue religious ideals, that we're still searching for him because we dont give in that easily..

then "you take what they say and go back and cry, you're so close to me that you nearly died.." that would be listening to everyones lies, and crying because you know it just isnt true.. like when people say god doesnt exist, or that he's lost hope on humanity......

at least thats my take on it..
i agree with bloodredblizzard !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
its kind of like when we see little kids do things and we say in the sweet talk voice "aww, how sweet..." even if its the ugliest pictures we've ever seen, we still say how wonderful it is. this song is like god doing that with us. hes admiring our innocence and naive qualities. telling us he loves that we need him and the thrives off our need and love for him.
I think this is prophesy... sing along with it, but change the singer to be God. It aligns perfectly with modern interppretation of Christianity.
i agree

Well at first when I heard it and read the lyrics it was definitely in God's perspective as all the lyrics are pointing to us "you". I know most people would go off and say "why you christians always gotta make everything about God" but i'm not so concerned about them but what Lacey is trying to throw out. It seems as if God is watching his children fall and seek the acceptance of other people but keep getting rejected and their image is broken, and it's saying that if you surrender to me, everything you are and will be, you will be satisfied. Because we as human fail, even the "holiest" people, if you wanna put it that way. And he, being God, is saying to look to him and surrender it all to him, to trust and believe in him.
I almost at one point thought that one of the verses was referring to Moses, "You were so close to me that you nearly died." as when Moses saw the back of God and nearly died. Idk about that but it's what i thought.
How did you hear this already? I really want to hear it now.
The song is talking about redemtion and it is an ongoing process; we continually fall and God is always there willing to pick us back up again. It's talking about how she has such a fire for God that it is consuming her completely.
