I think this songs meaning is it's okay to believe what you want, but know Jesus will always take you as you are.

I guess with that it's saying everything Jesus does for you your never satisfied with it. Then He's saying your not doing enough and your letting what other people say about you get to ya and you feel like Jesus has failed you.
