I think this song is about a boy named peter and a young women named Katie who is beyond beautiful. they both like eachother a lot and although peter was scared of something at first(unsure of what). this song made him realize that he needs to "dance on the edge" and let go of his fears because he could be perfect with katie, but would never know if he didnt tell her he wants to be her boyfriend now. he is sincerely sorry he hasnt been much of a boyfriend so far but he is going to strive to be the most perfect guy possible.

Katie, i really do like you and i really am sorry. i don't know what i was afraid of. i hope that you forgive me. i hope that you allow me to prove to you that i will no longer let my fears get the best of me. i want to talk to you. Katie, please give me a second chance...

I think that this song is about suicide ((for obvious reasons))... but I also think that it is about Romeo and Juliet.

Just look at the title 'The Balcony Scene', arguable one of the most important scenes in the entire play.

Continuing along the lines of suicide... Romeo and Juliet commit suicide in the play.

And how about the line 'Can we lose our minds And call it love for the last time' Romeo and Juliet aren't really in love, it's just crazy teenage lust that makes them lose their minds and do things they wouldn't do otherwise , but they call it love and it is the last time they ever get to do this because they die.

this song is probably my favorite by them. i love to slow dance to it :) i think this song is about him loving a girl & wanting to be with her so bad, & although she loves him & wants to be with him too, she's afraid to take that next step with him because she has been scarred by past relationships that went wrong.

when he says "And i might be something to you, beyond beautiful."

i think he's telling her she should let go of her fears & take that chance with him because they could end up being just what the other one needs & having a really great, beautiful relationship.

and when he says "And i might be perfect with you. But no one would know." he's saying how if she doesn't take that chance of being with him they'll never know what could've been, & most likely end up missing out on something great.

As for my FAVORITE part, the part where he says "Have you ever really danced on the edge? Is something still scaring you? Have you ever really danced on the edge? The count on 3 its on... Have you ever really danced on the edge? Alright then tell me so... Have you ever really danced on the edge? Just hold my hand and go..."

i think dancing on the edge is a metaphore for doing something daring that could cause u to get hurt. and "is something still scaring you" is him asking her if she's still scared that what happened to her in the past will happen again. and by saying "The count on 3 its on..." & "Just hold my hand and go..." he's saying it's time to let go of her fears & be with him.*
