All Your Lies Lyrics

Pay attention, pay attention, pay attention please
He who lusts through life for excess of this world
dies a lonely man, careless of his soul
throwing caution to the wind with foolish ignorance
you're full of pride (full of pride) full of pride
and in arrogance you can't accept the nearing end of this short lived life

Smile and give a toast, brag and boast
fool the world with all of your lies
the parasite's host never even knows
pull the wool over our eyes

Walk the line and pay the price
a pound of flesh for paradise
wear the wounds of your demise

Fail to mention your intentions, fail to mention why
the actions of your life contradict your words
the path in which you walk is a vice of no remorse
washing conscience from the skin, claiming innocence
ignore the signs

Smile and give a toast, brag and boast
fool the world with all of your lies
the parasite's host never even knows
pull the wool over our eyes

Walk the line and pay the price
a pound of flesh for paradise
wear the wounds of your demise
a pound of flesh for paradise

I should have made your mind up for you (for you)
I should have made your mind up for you (for you)

Walk the line and pay the price
a pound of flesh for paradise
wear the wounds of your demise (pay the price)
from cradle to grave, you chose to trade
a pound of flesh for paradise
wear the wounds of your demise

Parts of these lyrics are wrong, but the site won't let me edit so...

No they are not, so you can tell those people who claim you've got these lyrics wrong to shut the hell up. This is ACTUALLY the demo version of "All Your Lies", which was recored with different lyrics the band wanted before Division itself. But apparently they were changed in the second recording of the song when they were doing Division. Respectively, there are two versions of "All Your Lies", just as they've done so for "Through The Iris". "Wasteland" on the other hand is not an exception because there were no changes to the lyrics except save for the different...

1st off is "you're full of pride" and it's not pull the world over our eyes it's "pull the wool over our eyes" and finally it's " from cradle to grave, you chose to trade

You are wrong, these are the lyrics to the demo version of the song. Go read the other lyrics to the Division version of the song in another tab through their list of songs.

By the way, those select few lyrics in parenthesis are actually when Tater screams his vocals. I'm assuming the band wanted to go a little heavy for Division just like they did so for KATHY, albeit less than KATHY, but couldn't for some reason. The song is friggin' good though, the lyrics are pretty strong indeed for their softest album yet.

this song is good, its about a way to live your life that is wrong. that way is to live your life purely for yourself "He who lusts through life for excess of this world dies a lonely man, careless of his soul" that you give a toast to yourself and you brag and boast about how good your life is when you are living your life at the expense of the harder working people "a pound of flesh for paradise wear the wounds of your demise"

The first verse is about commiting the sin of lust and, being aware of the consequences for their evil, still life their live in such a careless manner.

Trading "a pound of flesh for paradise" means sacrificing eternity in Heaven for a short burst of excitement demanded by instant gratification.

People sometimes live two lives; they are two-faced. When the song says "the actions of your life contradict your words," it probably means that people are influenced to live in such a way that does not reflect who they truly are.

In short, I believe this song is about those who are tempted into sin. They become careless of their wrongdoing because of the pleasure it gives them. However, there is a price to pay for living the wrong way.

I'm convinced your second line of thought is a good direction to start with here.

The lyrics are obviously implying something far more than just 'live a good life rather than a bad one, or else'.

I would imagine the lyrics are directed toward someone specific. The line "I should have made up your mind for you" gives that away. However, I believe the whole song could be directed to our society in general, as the great majority of people choose to live this very same lifesyle.

This song is a commentary on the Gospel vs. the society My...

The lyric "I should have made your mind up for you" is actually totally incorrect. It's "Bend the truth 'til you can't find it (find it). Twist your lies 'til you don't mind them (mind them)"

I do see a much deeper spiritual meaning to this and many other 10 Years songs. This song, along with it's predecessor on the album, "Picture Perfect" are very deep and the haunting precursor lyrics at the end of "Picture Perfect" allude to the true depth and meaning of "All Your Lies". Written almost as a letter:...

This song really strikes me as talking about who are too self absorbed so they think they are good enough to walk alongside sin but never fall into it. I like to call this the Chaddiferian Sock-Vaccum theory. We think we are good enough to move the vaccum (ourselves) right next to the sock (sin) without having it getted suced into the vaccum and next thing !!!PHOOMP!!! We get sucked into sin because we overestimated yourself. This is greatly illustrated by the line "Walk the line and pay the price."

Upon being sucked into the sin we deny that anything is wrong because we're too good to sin, right? Wrong, our actions contradict our words and we begin to lose our former selvs to the sin and it eats at us until we are alone and die alone without a care about how big we screwed things up. "The parasite's host never even knows." We become so lost in the sin that we don't realize anything is wrong and we must "wear the wounds of our demise." The eternal happiness was traded in for no more than a temporary ecstsasy, a false happiness, or a simple pleasure.

this song is simply about the people who live with in themselves. In our world we call this being prideful. He trys to stand a higher ground than everyone around him. He's always right, he never owns up to his faults. So Jessie wrote this song to tell these types of people walk the line and pay that price.. cause you will surely die a lonley man. God does not apperciate being prideful(satan was prideful)..
