The first verse is about commiting the sin of lust and, being aware of the consequences for their evil, still life their live in such a careless manner.
Trading "a pound of flesh for paradise" means sacrificing eternity in Heaven for a short burst of excitement demanded by instant gratification.
People sometimes live two lives; they are two-faced. When the song says "the actions of your life contradict your words," it probably means that people are influenced to live in such a way that does not reflect who they truly are.
In short, I believe this song is about those who are tempted into sin. They become careless of their wrongdoing because of the pleasure it gives them. However, there is a price to pay for living the wrong way.
I'm convinced your second line of thought is a good direction to start with here.

The lyrics are obviously implying something far more than just 'live a good life rather than a bad one, or else'.

I would imagine the lyrics are directed toward someone specific. The line "I should have made up your mind for you" gives that away. However, I believe the whole song could be directed to our society in general, as the great majority of people choose to live this very same lifesyle.

My thoughts:
Paradise = Justification, but not by yourself or thru your own actions, and eternal life with God.
Demise = Eternal damnation, something that happens after the life of the "flesh".
"Fail to mention...ignore the signs", and "smile and...over our eyes" are referring to the sinner convincing themselves thru their own lies that they are 'ok' or in the clear to be justified as heaven bound. The lyrics are directed toward someone who is living a lie, but not only that, they also believe their own lie. The lyrics also ask the recepient to glance at the heart and motive, rather than do whatever their lustful desire impulses and later claiming innocence thru lies.
Seriously, this is a Gospel message with lots of holes in it. That's what it is. Many of their songs follow similar messages. They all seem to be directed toward an audience that is blind to the truth about life in general, regarding spiritual justification.
The lyric "I should have made your mind up for you" is actually totally incorrect. It's "Bend the truth 'til you can't find it (find it). Twist your lies 'til you don't mind them (mind them)"

I do see a much deeper spiritual meaning to this and many other 10 Years songs. This song, along with it's predecessor on the album, "Picture Perfect" are very deep and the haunting precursor lyrics at the end of "Picture Perfect" allude to the true depth and meaning of "All Your Lies". Written almost as a letter:...

Pay attention, pay attention, pay attention please! He who lusts through life for excess in this world dies a lonely man, careless of his soul, throwing caution to the wind with foolish ignorance. You're full of pride and arrogance. You can't accept the nearing end of this short lived life.
You fail to mention your intnetions, fail to mention why, your actions in life contradict your words. Th epath on which you walk, a line of no remorse. Washing conscience from the skin, claiming innocense. You ignore the signs. You bend the truth until you can't find it. You twist your lies until you don't mind them.
You smile and give a toast. You brag and you boast. You try to fool the world with all of your lies. But a parasite's host never even knows. You try to pull the wool over our eyes. Walk the line and pay the price: A pound of flesh for paradise. From craddle to grave, you chose to trade a pound of flesh for paradise. Now you will wear the wounds of your demise.
