Hm, the song definitely seems to me like he's talking to a girl he was with after a long relationship that meant everything to him. He was with her because she reminded him of his old love, but he doesn't love her, and realizes she is not what he thought she was. He enjoyed talking to her about their miseries, but in the end, he realizes he doesn't want tof all in love again.

Now the part that confuses me, is

And the part that's missing from the lyrics that goes "Well I don't care for you anymore, so why don't you f**k yourself"...

Seems to me like she's been playing with him, so he's disappointed with her, realizing she is not even close to his old love. Tho the rest is a bit confusing. I like it a lot, but I can't decipher it, especially the line "The first snowfall is always the whitest",,,

The part you said confuses you, I was thinking it's problably a reference to this old girl. Instead of saying; You remind me of "name", he choses to describe her instead.

Perhaps this girl was also his first love hence the "The first snowfall is always the whitest".

The first time being in love is always the greatest. Once you lost it there's no sense in chasing after it and comparing new relationships to it.

i agree with just about everybody here, especially adrenallin, it makes alot of since. And as for the snowfall part think about it, the first time you see snow its the most beutiful and purest white of all things, after that it looses its beauty and its not that appealing anymore as it is the same with love. although i am only 14 i have had experiences with what i thought was love although it wasnt what i thought it was, i still am good friends with her i just dont have those fealings anymore. I know now that it wasnt real love and i have no interest in feeling it again. This is my oppinion on most of sonics songs below just so everyone can see it on any song page.

Sonic Syndicate seems to be pushing same basic idea throughout most of their songs. it seems to be the idea that the human race is destruction, and is wrong as clearly pointed out in powershift. Enhance My Nightmare seems to be a deeper tale of Adam and Eve from one of their perspectives (probably eves based on the statement that the temptation becaim too great however they worded it) denied seems to be a song describing gods anger and disbelief at the betrayal of adam and eve and then them lying to him afterwards, crowned in despair seems to be describing how adam was veered away from his great path by eve and brought to despair, yet god stayed with them, although punishing them. They seem to describe the point i mentioned earlier through the story of adam of eve (by story i am not implying that it was made up because it is true)they even made reference to the garden of eden in their album "The Eden Fire".

I'm way late of course but heck, been 1.5 years from first to last comment already. So here goes.

After the line "But afterall you reminded me of..." the narrative I supposedly drifts away and speaks to the former lover. So in short it consists of three people. Narrative I. Former lover. Present lover. Start to -> "reminded me of..." = present lover. "Reminded me of.." -> Chorus = Former lover. (Chorus is also partially adressed to everyone, including the audience, however the few lines not in these lyrics are most definitely towards the former and describes that disgust you sometimes feel for still wanting someone who does not appear to want you and how you become very fed up with it.)

And the last part is, again, towards the present someone to eventually drift of into thoughts of the former.

Anyone ever been freakishly in love, broken up, gotten a rebound just to not feel lonely and come to terms with the fact that this new someone, is afterall, just a replacement and not someone you love, making you feel lonlier than piss, even worse than before? That's, in my sincere opinion, what this song is about.

Then of course there's a few deeper elements one could point at (Not impossible the present someone is using the narrative I in the same way, similar scars and all etc) but overall, it's just a darn depressing song. Which is, quite awesome and befitting to metal.
