I love this song, it's so beautiful in its sadness. I'm not sure if there are any Twilight fans here, but I find that this song is just perfect for Bella in New Moon.
Since Brooke's lyrics are heavily influenced by God and religion, the first thing that comes to mind is that she's talking about God. But, as I'm not a very religious person, I always take this song as a love song, and it makes a gorgeous one at that. Very, very gorgeous. I love how easily you can twist her song lyrics into anything you want them to mean. (:

I think this song is about how she knows that God (Jesus Christ) is there no matter what, and the longer she waits for God to answer her prayer or to comfort her she's just made more faithful to God cause thats who we all depend on. "I count this world as lost, you are all I want..." In other words shes giving up the world, and her ways, to be closer to God. WONDERFUL SONG and its so true (to Christians I would assume)
