Droppin Dimes Lyrics
Home wrecked.
House bought.
Daddy needs a new start.
Good friend to girlfriend.
Goodbey, your bags are packed.
Thanksgiving weekend.
Mom's on the phone, she's crying.
Whos that and whats wrong? Where's dad?
He's not home.
"How are you?" he asks.
"I'm not bad, I guess..."
I'm dropping dimes and I'm bearing knuckles.
You fight for me but I'm hardly worth it.
So dad, how's the new house?
Bet it's nice with no kids around.
Mom's busy, she's been working late since your last chekc never came.
IO'm glad for the raise and the move south, 'cause i"d rather spend your money than spend my time with you.
What do you want me to say?
I'll make it all up if its makes you feel better.
I'll make it all up for you.

Droppin' dimes means dropping coins in the pay phone. the way that parts of this song were written like a conversation leads me to believe that "Droppin' Dimes" does in fact refer to a phone conversation between him and his father. Bearing knuckles simply means that hes ready for a fight.
Beautiful song. Unfortunately I think a lot of us can relate to this song a lot. Any idea what 'dropping dimes and bearing knuckles' means? The rest is pretty obvious.
dropping dimes - ratting people out or dealing small amounts of drugs, or possibly making phone calls from a pay phone.
bearing knuckles - getting into fights
mmmmmm i think it means..dropping dimes--he doesnt care about the money that his dad is sending, it doesnt mean anything.. bearing knuckles--he hates his dad for what he did and..he wants to punch him
dropping dimes- telling on someone (like the police) bearing knuckles- to want to fight someone. the rest seems obvious
wow. this is my family's song.
it's very beautiful. very sad.
I love this song.
