Lost And Running Lyrics

Oh i was sick and tired of waiting lost
And u were mad at me for so much more
I was bored listenin' to the same old chords
You would complain that i was never around
And we shouldn't hope, no we shouldn't hope
If love is so easy then why am i stuck?
If life is so smooth why can't i get enough?
Oh I'm still lost and running, i cant get enough
No I'm still lost and and running, i cant get enough

Every day moves like a hurricane,
its draggin me around no matter what i say
Our time in the city streets, im outta luck
The cobblestones are dark and where theres noone i trust
And it comes around, yeah it comes around
Missed it so easy say where have u gone
I'm lookin for somewhere that i can lay down my arms

Oh I'm still lost and running, i cant get enough
No im still lost and running, i cant get enough
I'm still lost and running, somewhere i lay down my arms
Oh im still lost and running, i cant get enough

I'm taking my time i let it float away
Spinnin' no lies and you got nothing to say
The further we slip into this rabbit hole
The harder we look for a new place to go
I'm still lost and running, i cant get enough no
I'm still lost and running, i can't get enough
I'm still lost and running, somewhere i lay down my arms
I'm still lost and running, i cant get enough

Well the harder we look for the new place to go
Yeah the harder we look for the new place to go
Where can i lay down my arms
Where can i lay down my arms

an awesome new song from the great lyricist bernard fanning! in this song hes talking about being disatisfied with his life, bored of waiting around for something to come to him. hes looking for the right path, it sounds like he keeps missing chances having to run after what he wants and to keep up with everything

but he comes to the conclusion in the end that the more we just wait and fall into a rut the further we get driven off the road, the direction we want to go ("the further we slip into this rabbit hole the harder we look a new place to go") the harder it is for us to find that new place we really want to be

he wants somewhere to "lay down his arms" somewhere he can he happy and content so at the end of the song he realises he doesnt want to run anymore so he lets go and takes his time.

i can relate to this song alot, having that same feeling of being lost and and not knowing how to make those right decisions to get to the place we want to be.

great song, i cant wait for thir new album
