The Difference Between Medicine and Poison Is in the Dose (Album) Lyrics

move one inch at a time
don't make shit rhyme
would it be easy to repeat the first line?
my mind's not a well, it won't run dry
just keep drinking water and you'll be alright
this is paralysis, with no time at all to let go

well don't call me by my full name
all this is temporary
it feels much better to know
that you won't feel a thing
well don't talk about it
write it down
but don't ask for help
I can't be honest with even myself
did you ever wish you were somebody else?

accomplishments are transient
they pull me in unremittingly
just lasting this long, I feel relieved
let repetition save me

well don't call me by my full name
all this is temporary
it feels much better to know
that you won't feel a thing
well don't talk about it
write it down
but don't ask for help
I can't be honest with even myself
did you ever wish you were somebody else?

move one inch at a time
and you'll be just fine
move one inch at a time and you'll find
they pull me in but accomplishments are transient
they pull me in but accomplishments are transient

well don't call me by my full name
all this is temporary
it feels much better to know
that you won't feel a thing
well don't talk about it
write it down
but don't ask for help
I can't be honest with even myself
did you ever wish you were
did you ever wish you were
did you ever wish you were somebody else?

to me, this song kind of sounds like it's the thoughts of a person that's in a band that's trying to be creative, but for the wrong reasons

move one inch at a time (go slowly so people continue to follow your band) don't make shit rhyme (not rhyming makes you stand out as an artist) would it be easy to repeat the first line? (yes, but they're still aiming for creativity) my mind's not a well, it won't run dry (i'm not that creative) just keep drinking water and you'll be alright (just remain consisten and you'll seem creative) this is paralysis, with no time at all to let go (patience is extremelty difficult)

that's what I got out of that verse

I think it's about seeing how relative things are in life. All varying to the one whose living it. The concept of moderation depletes when this comes to mind. How some people believed their whole life that they had to take a certain role to fit the social scheme. But when we grow up and do what we were always told, we figure out that life isn't as simple as simple as we might have thought. I think that correlates with the music video how they're working a basic 9-5 job but feel tied down and drained. A feeling of it not being natural. A matter of living day by day like many people do. That life like medication needs to fit the patient.

At face value, the song seems to be about Anthony's problems in his life. I'm not sure if there might be a deeper meaning, but this is my interpretation after a couple listens: He has a tendancy to turn his problems into songs instead of telling somebody and getting help (don't talk about it, write it down, but don't ask for help). The line "my mind's not a well, it won't run dry" hints that he has a lot of problems and that they won't be ending anytime soon, giving him an endless source of writing material. when he says "accomplishments are transient" i think he's talking about his bands popularity and success. It doesn't matter how successfull he gets or how happy he makes his fans, he's not getting help for his problems so his life isn't going to get any better. The line "did you ever wish you were somebody else?" kinda makes me wonder if he's getting tired of performing and wants to settle down. I sure hope not. This is a great song and i can't wait for the album!

Hey man, no offense but your interpretation is all wrong. This song is based on "The Count Of Monte Cristo" By Alexandre Dahme. (Not sure on the spelling of the last name there. :/ ) The book is about a man named Edmond Dante who pretty much gets fucked over by everyone he knows and gets thrown into jail. He comes out thirsty for Vengance and completley changes himself. (Don't call me by my full name) He finds a treasure on the island of Monte Cristo. He becomes fluent in ALL languages. (Would it be easy to repeat the first...

I completely agree with krikitarmy. Circa's Fucking amazing. Can't wait till May. I hope Anthony gets the help he needs, assuming he needs it. I care more about him than the music.

i was thinkin the same as krikitarmy but the line did you ever wish you were somebody else i htink referneces not being a different human being yourslef but that you were a different way than you are about ceratin matters and the let repetition save me i think means songs are reptitive if theyre verse chorus reapeating the lyrics and his accomplishements "pull him in" but are transient means he always wants to make songs and stuff but it does nothin for his problems
