It's about a guy who goes scuba diving, for god knows what reason - he's jsut scuba diving having a good time to "Aqua Swing". He has too much fun though, and forgets to check his oxygen levels - they're running dry and he's very deep int he water. The only way he can make it up is fast, but if he goes up fast he will get the bends because gases (Nitrogen) escape his bodily fluids and screw up his system. I'm not sure how bad it was though, and don't really know what the song is about for Love at the Event Horizon or Re-Entry
The Event Horizon could be seen as the edge of the world, so maybe the guy is on the edge of death while in a recompression chamber, and Re-entry is in terms of the gas bubbles re-entering his bodily fluids to safety (and him re-entering the world escaping death).
From the descriptions given on the album and the sounds made.
It would seem obvious that the guy was thrown overboard, he sinks (Man Overboard) possibly unconscious, he wakes up disorientated (Drowning Flute), doesn't know for how long and see's he is going to drown, there is not much oxygen in the tank, loses his mind a bit under water (maybe dances with the fishes) ; ) (aqua swing)..thinning oxygen, then realises he has to re-surface fast, he starts climbing (following the bubbles to the surface/starting to get sick internally as he is climbing too fast), he tries to get to the surface before time runs out (Guitar and Oxygen Tank), suffers nerve damage (nerve damage), gets a severe case of the bends (Screaming Bends), Panics (Panic In Blue)....trying to get to the surface he gets an extreme sense of relief, he is almost there, it feels euphoric (Love on the event horizon) re-entry almost kills him, intense experience...
This episode leads into...."back stroking" maybe....he's lost his mind...temporarily...seeing things...
I think this song might be about the bends....
yeah, no real lyrics...but this is 10 minutes of awesome bungleness, kind of like being under water, the loud effect at the end could be the resurfacing...hence "the bends".
there's probably a narrative somewhere in there but I havn't figured it out yet..
there's a part where you can hear a warning alarm (I think it's 'Nerve Damage'), it sounds like he's out of oxygen and is racing up to the surface, but passes out before he reaches it (you can hear choking)
immediately after is the 'Screaming Bends', which would make sense..
Love on the Event Horizon seems to be his death (moaning in pain, slowly going silent)
Re-Entry is an eerie noise which builds up to a deafening scream, no idea what this means!
this is what the songs about...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decompression_sickness
he didn;t die.. just got the bends and is fucked up.
The name for section 5 has always puzzled me, because I hear scuba gear and a piano, but no guitar. Maybe the lead character is the guitarist and he died underwater, and the scuba breathing is the guy rescuing him?
you can die from the bends.
also 're-entry' sounds like spirits or something so... re-incarnation? re-entering the world
the very last part where you can hear intense noise building up and suddenly stopping, I think it represents the diver coming too far down and the pressure is building up and he suddenly dies.

Man Overboard The Drowning Flute Aqua Swing (happy sounds) Follow the Bubbles (bubbles) Duet For Guitar and Oxygen Tank (door opens, starts breathing heavily) Nerve Damage (flat lining - medical equipment sound, rushing to the surface, running out of breath) Screaming Bends (dark eerie music) Panic In Blue (really starts to loose it, disorientated) Love on the Event Horizon (happy vocals, dahh da ends, with "aahh...ahh" in pain) Re-Entry (sounds like he is starting to hear surface sounds through the water, then re-enters the surface world). It would seem obvious that the guy was thrown overboard, he sinks (Man...
