Once In A Lifetime Lyrics
And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house,
with a beautiful wife
And you may ask yourself-
Well, how did I get here?
Well, how did I get here?
Letting the days go by,
Let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by,
Water flowing underground
Into the blue again,
After the money's gone
Once in a lifetime,
Water flowing underground
And you may ask yourself,
How do I work this?
And you may ask yourself,
Where is that large automobile?
And you may tell yourself,
This is not my beautiful house
And you may tell yourself,
This is not my beautiful wife
Not my beautiful wife
Letting the days go by,
Let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by,
Water flowing underground
Into the blue again,
After the money's gone
Once in a lifetime,
Water flowing underground
The same as it ever was
The same as it ever was
The same as it ever ways
And you may ask yourself,
What is that beautiful house?
And you may ask yourself,
Where does that highway go?
And you may ask yourself,
Am I right? Or am I wrong?
And you may say to yourself,
My god, what have I done?
What have I done?
Letting the days go by,
Let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by,
Water flowing underground
Into the blue again,
After the money's gone
Once in a lifetime
Once in a lifetime
Once in a lifetime
And you may find yourself in another part of the world

Beautiful song. I woke up tonight with it stuck in my head. Reminds me of all my friends graduating college now and that I'm stuck there another 2 years and that I might not see any of them again. This song is a remake of an old Talking Heads song.
Here's an explanation from The Exies themselves:

The Exies version definitely turns what (in my opinion) is a fluff song into something meaningful.
It is hard to compare the two simply because the difference in musical style, so I think of them as 2 different songs that happen to have the same lyrics/
i had to make an account just to say this.. you guys are f'ing smoking crack. this song sounds f'ing 1 million times better than the original.. that thing sounds like sh*t!!!!
this is a great song and a great improvement on terrible music using the decent lyrics that were there.
great meaning behind this song and im sure it really hits home for a lot of people.
If there's one generalization about hipters that stays true, is that Talking Heads are gods apparently. They're so goddamn overrated...
destruction of a classic i hate when shitty bands cover good songs....its really just disgusting
dude! this song sucks! I like The Exies but how could they make such a bad cover?
