Where you're headed there is no return
You're hell bent on a crash and burn
You think you're winnin but you won't be free
Until you realize there's no enemy

So live
Live on through me
It's time to forgive
The creeper kamikaze

Goin down on a one way flight
You're just dyin to be right
Your time is closing in and that's a sign
Of moving forward on a slow decline

So live
Live on through me
It's time to forgive
The creeper kamikaze

And give
Give yourself to me
And everything you believe
Well it's the creeper kamikaze

So forgive
The things you cannot hide
Cause when the truth comes in
Your soul opens wide

So live
Live on through me
It's time to forgive
The creeper kamikaze

So forgive
So forgive
So forgive
So forgive

lol, notice I just posted this 2 days ago.....for some reason, this song's lyrics wasn't submitted wth the rest of the album

one of my favorites on the album. Most of the meaning is pretty obvious. Think creeper kamikaze means the slow self-destruction that the person is going through

I disagree, I think it might be about the World Trade Centers, but I can see your meaning as well...

I think its awesome that its general enough to be stated as such:

Creeper (something that stalks, or is rather sneaky) Kamikaze (explination not necessary)

Very instrumental and moving, a good blend of instruments will keep you listening...it was a very fitting style for them

Forgot to say, its definately an internal problem, not allowing oneself to live and appreciate; your essentialy wasting your life

i believe it is about the WTC as well.... it was mind-washed sleeper (as in sleeper cell) kamikaze that did it, and we are all on-board for our destruction because of it.

: / I slightly disagree with the WTC idea. If you listen to the lyrics he is almost saying o the Kamikaze that they will live on through him and says to us to forgive them. Not terribly a popular idea. Yet, he uses the lines, your jut dieing to be right, similar to how many terrorists feel their deaths will change things. However, none the less, I think that the song is in references to a different tragedy. Pearl Harbor seems like a very likely possibility as well.

Oh, for reference, the song was release in 2003 or post 9/11. In addition, much of Exies lyrics were written in 2001, so it is possible that this is about 9/11 and overall about forgiving those who oppose and try and hurt you, whether they are Japanese, Arabic, etc.

Wow. This song is obviously about dealing with intrinsic, personal issues that would otherwise cause you to self-destruct.

No 9-11, no pearl harbor. christ... some of the things people pull out of their arses on this site...

    My Interpretation

This is my Favorite song by The Exies. How i interpret this song is, well few years back my girlfriend killed herself and i still torture myself to this day about all the coulda shoulda woulda's so the song speaks to me as sort of a "forgive her don't beat yourself up over it, dont hurt yourself in the end you're not free of the guilt and pain just learn to deal and move on"

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
