You're in my head
Tormenting me
I'm runnin' scared
In my time of need
Cuts on my head
Cuts on my feet
I'm here waitin'
So baptize me
Baptize me

I need a reason
I need to know just why
You were my meaning
Now its my you deny
You're in my head
Tormenting me
I need a beginning
So baptize me
Baptize me
Baptize me

Hole in my self
Kills by degrees
Gift of compasion
You gave to me
Blistered my hands
On your beliefs
I'm here waitin'
So baptize me
Baptize me

I need a reason
I need to know just why
You were my meaning
Now it's me you deny
You're in my head
Tormenting me
I need a beginning
So baptize me
Baptize me
Baptize me

You're in my head
Tormenting me
I'm runnin' scared
In my time of need
Cuts on my head
Cuts on my feet
I'm here waitin'
So baptize me
Baptize me

This song is NOT repeat NOT a religious song. Its deeper than that. Its about losing everything you have and wanting to start over. its about someone leaving you with nothing and walking away. "Baptize" is a rebirth and in this song a wanting to start all over.

This song is great. He said it was a religious song when I saw them in concert, but big DUH there I guess. "Blistered my hands on your beliefs" sounds alot like a stigmata (I believe that's it..) to me.. lol, but all I can say for "sure" is it has a religious meaning.

well, ur wrong it is a religious song but not the beliefs you would find in a contemporary religion. but in most of ur posts here exiesbabe you seem to have/had a bad relationship you dont like or somethin and therefore all songs MUST be about it.

people need to start catching on for waht the exies are really about....

This song is definitely religious. I believe it is about him believing in God but after lots of things went wrong in his life he felt like God wasn't there for him anymore.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
