Absolutely. This song - hell, this album - is brilliant. I have always loved Silverchair, and this is the most mature, honest and finely crafted album of their career.
This song just makes you want to get up and dance!
I like the album, but this is by far NOT the most honest, crafted, best album. Do you really think that an album that makes you want to dance goes along with Daniel´s deprressant life? As for the "mature" label that everybody´s talking about, I don´t think that they´ve matured musically in this album, they just went for another direction. It was sort of announced if you take a look at the differnce of songs from neon ballroom to diorama. I think that they matured musically starting in neon ballroom, there you see a much more serious band, writing and...

wow. in 1995 when Frogstomp came out, you'd never... ever... imagine they'd mature to this level. i prefer the grunge, but everyone have to mature and grow, and Silverchair have done it through their music and i admire them for it.
This song is amazing, and fun too. Silverchair have moved past grunge, they did a long time ago and people should just let it go as well, they'll never be that way again. I think Daniel's songwriting has gotten more amazing with each new album, and I hope it continues to be that way.
oh my god this song is WILD... I literally can't think of anything even remotely like it. I thought I hated it at first but upon further listening realized I fucking LOVE it. The lyrics are fantastic... and I mostly agree with Persuasion, since we are on songmeanings and no one needs to hear how much I love this song without also hearing what I think about the meaning, right?
PS... one thing I do love about Silverchair is I feel like I've grown up WITH them, you know? By that I mean even musically, because I've moved beyond wanting to listen to the grunge-y type stuff (that I liked around Frogstomp and Freakshow) to a little more mature (Neon Ballroom remains to this day one of my top ten records to listen to - almost perfect from start to finish, really)... it's quite amazing really but I understand why people say that they liked them better before because, well, they were DIFFERENT, weren't they? but tell me who you know who is even remotely the same person they were twelve years ago...

Amazing lyrics, and the music is even better... it has a certain Tom Waits air to it. First song off the new album that jumped out to me. There's a lot of people who don't like this album... but we must accept that Silverchair has grown up, and so have we!

Thanks "youwantedahero"! I've seen comments calling them sellouts and the like and it is irritating. Dislike the album, that's called an opinion, but it is irrational to only dislike something because someone didn't stay inside the bubble you wanted them to reside in for eternity. They grew up! When we were all five years old we probably thought "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" was hot shit musically but we grew up. People evolve. It's to their detriment not to, actually.
