I think this song is about sonny trying to communicate to his fans or a friendship that is really strong and bears a lot of scars

Not That Sure On The Meaning Though..

That they have been put through alot to be known as the "hardcore/emo/whatever other label you slap alongside their name"

demons or not it doesn't make a difference to me im so tired of screaming

He is sick of having to change the way he looks and sound for it to appeal to other people. He just wants to act like himself.

Well I personally think this song, is about how Sonny put himself out there and now Like element4life2257 said he just wants to be himself.

"in the mecca of us we all glow forever" Mecca can mean hope. So Sonny's pretty much saying that he isn't giving up hope and to never give up hope.

hmm, its such a beautiful song.. so different to fftl. but equally as good. possibly better as its more soft + has more meaning to it.

he sings good and the lyrics are pretty but i just dont like the layout of this song. I dont like the way he sings it. I give it a 2.

This is a truely amazing song. Here is what I think each line means.

"with miles to drive on a cerebral highway where it leads our hearts to that empire where all unfolds" -Here he is saying he still has a long way to go and eventually it will all 'unfold' and fall into place.

"in the mecca of us we all glow forever" -As xlovexandxwarx said, Mecca can mean hope. And Sonny is saying he wont give up hope.

"with cobwebbed eyes an affair with the puppets you've seemed to have forgotten and now you sleep with the rats all alone" -Here I think he is saying people have gotten too famous or full of themselves and it just gets them nowhere and they end up alone.

"i held you so warm like a brother a part of you in a part of me so spoiled i cut you off like a cancer" -Here I think he is talking about FFTL. How he kept it going by being there singer and they will always be a part of him and he will be a part of them. And then suddenly, he left.

"its simple how you complete my core so potent in your eyes to move mountains to burn skies" -I'm not sure here. It's like he could be talking about a girl. Or music. Like, how you can get lost in music and you can find yourself in it.

"we've broken our arms and throats for our portraits demons or not it doesn't make a difference to me im so tired of screaming" -And of course, here he is talking about how he just wants to be himself. Instead of constantly changing to fit what other people want.

How can you give this song a 2? Sonny is an amazing singer. This is my favorite of his new ones so far.
