Alive Again Lyrics
I felt it turn to come and go
don't worry no one ever knows
I don't know why it just won't die
It breaks me in to stay alive
I know it hurt a lot like you
C'mon I know that you felt it too
It hurts the same and that's okay
I never liked him anyway
I know, I know, I know, I
It seems so long since I've been gone
I got so used to just hanging on
I feel so wrong
I don't belong
I got so used to just hanging on
I'm used to starving out instead
It's easier than faking it
Sometimes it hurts but
That's no worse than than all those times
I guess it works
I know they walked away with a piece of me
The more I know that I won't go
The more I bruise from laying low
I know, I know, I know, I
It seems so long since I've been gone
I got so used to just hanging on
I feel so wrong
I don't belong
and I know and I know and I know I...
walk around like I'm alive again
But I know it's just not the same
I walk around like I'm alive again
Shut up
And I walk around like I'm alive again
But I know it's just not the same
I walk around like I'm alive again
But I know it's just not the same...
I broke it all
I'm sorry, I broke it, I broke it all
I'm sorry, I broke it all
I'm sorry, I broke it, I broke it all
I'm sorry, I broke it all
I'm sorry, I broke it, I broke it all
I'm sorry, I broke it, I broke it all
And I'm fading
don't worry no one ever knows
I don't know why it just won't die
It breaks me in to stay alive
I know it hurt a lot like you
C'mon I know that you felt it too
I never liked him anyway
I know, I know, I know, I
I got so used to just hanging on
I feel so wrong
I don't belong

But I know it's just not the same

I'm sorry, I broke it all
I'm sorry, I broke it, I broke it all
I'm sorry, I broke it, I broke it all
I'm sorry, I broke it, I broke it all
And I'm fading

This is my opinion:
It could mean that his girlfriend left him or they both broke it off. Also I think, a friend of his girlfriends was associated and it could also do with his addiction. Here why, first verse: I felt it turn to come and go don't worry no one ever knows I don't know why it just won't die It breaks me in to stay alive I know it hurt a lot like you C'mon I know that you felt it too
He felt the need to break it, but it still hurts him that they broke up.
It hurts the same and that's ok I never liked him anyway I know
It could mean it hurts in both ways, the addiction and the girl and also he never likes the girlfriends friend anyway.
And then etc etc, read it and understand the rest :P
I love marianas trench!!! They are my favourtie band by far!! Love them!! ok. I'm not too sure what this song is about... I dunno.. but o well I still love this song!!!
something i'm afraid to ask the band because i don't want to offend them is if josh is gay.. I kinda get the feeling when he talks.. :S but if so i'm pretty sure i get the song... like c'mon : "I never liked him anyway"?
you know not all songs are about sexual partners and that type of relationship. it could be a brother, friend, father, neighbour, co-worker, band member, manager, a friend's ex, not just an ex. think about lyrics, some songs are more than just love stories or break-up stories.

he could be talking about his girlfriend's previous boyfriend. or the ex of a girl he liked. that's what came to my mind.

Josh is not gay, he has a girlfriend.
Josh is not gay, he has a girlfriend.
I think that when he says " i never liked him anyway" he's talking about who he was when he had all his problems. "him" is who he was with all his addictions, he's looking back on who he used to be and doesnt like what he sees.

Thats how I took the lyrics. Hope it helped:)

SOMEONE POST THE LYRICS TO THEIR NEW SONG "FIX ME" WHICH IS NOW AVAILABLE ON ITUNES FOR $.99!
I don't think Josh is gay, I hear he has a girlfriend. I mean, and I hope he's not gay, either!
I think it's about being emotionally scarred, and just trying to go along with life, pretend everything's okay and you're still happy, hence, "alive again."
And I thought it said, "I never liked you anyway." Not 'him'. Or if it indeed does say him, then perhaps its from a girl's perspective.
lmfao, just kindin his g/f name is maddy.. i think:S
yes, I think it is. Look in the thank you's. I like reading the thank you's.
Hey, you know in the booklet, by Mike (I think)'s name, it lists what he does for instruments and vocals, and it says 'general sweetness'. Was that a joke or is it some kind of new instrument? LOL
I have to admit that this isn't one of M-Trench's best songs, but I do love the "I'm sorry, I'm sorry" part near the end. :)
considering most of the songs on this album are about drug addictions and bulimia, I'm guessing this isn't about a girl/boy friend. I think it's about living without drugs, and how it's effecting you. I can't really explain how I think about it in my head but..yeah. It think it's about Josh's heroin addiction. And I'm pretty sure he's not gay.
I totally agree. i think thats why their first album seemed so much edgier than their second. becuase he has dealt with so much in his lifetime.

And then there was an advertisement asking me to create a Chimpoo... What?
Their lyrics are so powerful, and meaningful. I love that there is a real band, with a real singer. And I love that this real band with a real singer can sing about real problems, with real, meaningful lyrics that they write themselves.
For once, it's not some thirteen year-old, talking about their first love. It's someone with true experience, speaking out about his problems. And for that, I could never love this band any more.
I will always be a Marianas Trench fan, and I will never have enough of Josh Ramsay, his voice, or his meaningful words. ♥
