Inside the Particle Storm Lyrics
Inside the particle storm
Where clouds of napalm shimmer
With the promise of one final dawn
Inside the particle bliss
Where ages collide into nothingness
Obliteration's one final kiss
A claw in the garden of Eden,
Clogging the bloodstream of Earth
Tearing a hole in the fabric of life
The horizon enriched with scars
Inside the particle blaze
A chamber of dissolution
Proclaiming the end of days
We leave now
Nothing will follow, nothing at all
The cleansing flames of entropy
To devour us all
Our lungs are filled with sarin
Our children drowning like dogs
Handcuffed to the weight of cold dark matter
Without purpose, meaning or name
Inside the particle storm
The poisoned gene of humanity
Nullified
This is the moment
When black ships anchor to the skies
The heavy hands of chaos
Descend in merciless demise
Where clouds of napalm shimmer
With the promise of one final dawn
Where ages collide into nothingness
Obliteration's one final kiss
Clogging the bloodstream of Earth
Tearing a hole in the fabric of life
The horizon enriched with scars
A chamber of dissolution
Proclaiming the end of days
Nothing will follow, nothing at all
The cleansing flames of entropy
To devour us all
Our children drowning like dogs
Handcuffed to the weight of cold dark matter
Without purpose, meaning or name
The poisoned gene of humanity
Nullified
When black ships anchor to the skies
The heavy hands of chaos
Descend in merciless demise

It's about the Large Hadron Collider
its definately about the end of human life but the way it mentions dark matter and "ages collide into nothingness" make me think it may be something bigger, perhaps the end of the universe and all existence in some apocalyptic explosion like another big bang. an explosion is essentialy a storm of particles

Yeah, I have to agree- it does seem like it's detailing all the supposed horror stories surrounding the LHC. The mentions of sarin and other things seem like embellishments, like stuff crazy doomsday cults will do (and did do in Japan in the past). The whole thing about the LHC creating a storm of black holes that would end the universe as we know it fits the song perfectly and "the cleansing flames of entropy" is most likely about heat death, the final act of entropy that will supposedly be the end of all known matter.

Awesome song-...
Awesome song- seems like a kind of standard doom & gloom track until you really get into it.
Badass song. Matches the mood of the lyrics perfectly.
Obviously, the lyrics are about the end of everything as we know it.
Badass song indeed! Very different from their usual style but awesome nonetheless.
i could be wrong but the first time i read these lyrics i saw bombs or nukes being dropped on innocents or just people in general...mysweet said it right too, perfect match in the lyrics and music
It's certainly about the end of the world, but I don't think it's biblical or by our own hand - I think it's nature silencing us once and for all.
I don't think it's about apocalypse, personally. It seems like the "end of the world." But what if it was the end of the world for not everybody, but a selection of people? Say, around 6 million people.
Personally, I think this is about the holocaust. Particle Storm and Chamber of Dissolution both seem they could be reffering to gas chambers. Poisoned gene of humanity. That could be (From the Nazi viewpoint) Judaism.
I have to agree with Ampulex. It's about nature finally having had enough of our manipulations and striking back through some form of cataclysm. The lines "The cleansing flames of entropy To devour us all" really convince me the end of humanity will be some natural cause. Entropy being a measure of randomness, which is what nature is. It's chaotic and random, and our attempts at structuring and organizing it have led to it striking back fatally.
this song crearly talks about the end of the world, but destruction is in my opinion not caused by nature's wrath as someone suggested but by mankind (it mentions napalm, which clearly indicates the use of some sort of weapon).
I really think it's about LHC because it mentions in the song that the catastrophy came out as an accident. "Handcuffed to the weight of cold dark matter Without purpose, meaning or name" It seems like it's a warning to be careful and not to play with dangerous toys.
I don't think it is meant to be something related to LHC. The frequent use of words related to physics suggests that Dark Tranuillity know that reactions in LHC are many times weaker than reactions happening in the atmosphere all the time. Also, the usage of words 'napalm' and 'sarin' suggests this is about something related to war.
My attempt to analyse it: Words like 'napalm' and 'sarin' suggest that it is about war. 'Particle Storm' or 'Particle blaze' may mean quickly moving particles, like plasma, or, less generally, flames. 'Where ages collide into nothingness' may mean that something that existed (and/or evolved) for long is being destroyed (like mankind). 'Clogging the bloodstream of Earth' may mean that the ways the nature worked will not work anymore. It seems like if all life on Earth was damaged by the event. 'Proclaiming the end of days' obviously means that it is about the end of the world. 'We leave now, Nothing will follow, nothing at all, The cleansing flames of entropy, To devour us all' probably means that the mankind is being totally removed from existence, returning to the original, chaotic stage of nature. Because high entropy usually means high temperature, it may also mean that the mankind was being killed by something very warm. 'Our lungs are filled with sarin, Our children drowning like dogs' sounds like some kind of merciless mass slaughter. 'Handcuffed to the weight of cold dark matter, Without purpose, meaning or name' may describe that the mankind was being reduced to anorganic, non-living, absolutely unimportant matter. 'The poisoned gene of humanity, Nullified' may mean that the mankind destroyed itself. 'When black ships anchor to the skies' may be about death in general, maybe something about Charon transporting humans into the World of the Dead, but this thematically does not fit the song. 'The heavy hands of chaos, Descend in merciless demise' is similar to the part about 'cleansing flames of entropy', about the arrival of a more chaotic era. 'With the promise of one final dawn' seems to indicate that somebody caused this in order to achieve some kind of greater good.
I would say it is about the destruction of mankind by itself, in a war, probably using hydrogen bombs.
