In the sun we are found to be
Reflections of a sound

I know it's been far too long
Stormy weather
My arrested hope won't take forever
Like a memory, I need it never

We walk, wrapped in thought
Some are vacant, some have grown too short
It's the only thing I've ever had that keeps me lonely

[Chorus]
In the sun we are found to be
Reflections of a sound
When nobody is around
In the sun we are found to be
Reflections of a sound
When nobody is around

Condemned from the waste of time
Feel so empty when I feel so fine
Starting over, we can change this life
Shout out sober

I've been waiting for far too long
Let's stick together
'Cause you're keeping me warm
And it's a lonely setting sun

[Chorus]

I wait so long
Now my head is full of pressure
I need time to cure my mind
It's like a loop that lasts forever

I've been waiting for far too long
Let's stick together
'Cause you're keeping me warm
And it's a lonely setting sun

[Chorus]

In the sun we are found to be
Reflections of a sound
For nobody
In the sun we are found to be
Reflections of a sound
For nobody

We walk, wrapped in thought Some are vacant some have grown too far It’s the only thing that keeps me lonely

    I think it is

we walk, wrapped in thought some are vacant some have grown too short Its the only thing that I ve ever had that keeps me lonely

..AND "Condemned from the waste of time"

    could also be

"Come down from the waste of time"

it continues to... Feel so empty when I feel so fine Starting over we can change this life "Shout out sober"

sounds like "shadow sober" or "shout it sober"

I wait so long Now my head is full of pressure Need time to cure my mind (What the missing line here it sounds like "Its like a loop that last for ever") Lasts forever

bottom 3? are you kidding? i think this song is about hope, thru good and bad, and just being yourself without guilt. Silverchair is the best!

This has Pure and Easy written all over it. Every time he sings "In the sun we are found to be Reflections of a sound", I just feel like adding "and words when you played your guitar".

    i can't say i love this song.

i don't hate it, but i certainly don't love it. it seems a little to happy-go-lucky for my liking. theres nothing wrong with happy songs, but this one reminds me of sunshine and rainbows.

This song is about how bats use reflections of sound off solid objects to navigate around the caves

hmmm i dunno but the title always makes me think that their sound as a band changing. And some lyrics seem to reflect that "i know its been far too long lets stick together" "i wait so long that my head is now full of pressure" (needs to write songs again now that the band is back together)

Its probably wayyy off and not about that at all on the website i found interesting that its written "come down from the WAIST of time" (as opposed to waste and makes it a very visual lyric.)Wanted to check the cd sleeve but its not with me at the moment

These lyrics are wrong. I don't see how anyone could place this song in the bottom 3 of this album. This is one of their best songs. (Even though I prefer their rock music better. Even their alt rock/romantic songs like "Miss You Love" are what I prefer most.) But this song makes them sound like an Australian version of The Beatles. I love it, and it shows that they are diverse in their music. What lyric from this song I want to understand the most is "In the sun, we are found to be reflections of a sound, when nobody is around." It's very pretty, but I don't know what it means...any ideas?

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
