Stranger You And I Lyrics
Darling keep your, keep your voice low
If you can't recall your lines
Maybe they won't, they won't notice
That you're hiding the script,
Hiding the script under your sleeves
I'm sure we'll be fine
You've got your friends and I
I've got my makers and all this time
Too late, too late to see the show
Everyone's going home
Too late, too late to make them stay
The critics say the script is old
You step away from the stage and the spotlight
I hold my breath as the curtain comes down
We must have misplaced the scene where love conquers all
It conquers all
And if I could have known on that winter day
That you'd fade away and only I was to blame
I would have stayed awake and found a way
To make every soul in the crowd stand and say
Bittersweet and shame but the ending makes us strong
Too late, too late to see the show
Everyone's going home
Too late, too late to make them stay
The critics say the script is old
Too late, too late to see the show
Everyone's going home
Too late, too late to make them stay
The crowd say the script is old
I'm sure we'll be fine
You've got your friends and I
I've got my makers and all this time
Too late, too late to see the show
Everyone's going home
Too late, too late to make them stay
The critics say the script is old

If you can't recall your lines

Anyone looked at the title of this song?? "stranger, you and i" is a line in a famous poem by robert frost which, incidentally, i think is where kenny gets a lot of his inspiration from. looking at the poem, i kinda tried to make sense of the song, because the first hundred times i looked at it i just couldnt make sense of it. but idk, this is just kind of a shot in the dark, but i think that its about a wedding that was supposed to happen, but didnt, because the girl got cold feet. he refers to it as a 'stage' but that could just as easily mean the altar. everyone's going home, because the weddings off, and he says we'll be fine, because she has her friends to run back to, and he has his alcohol, the makers being makers mark bourbon whiskey. idk thats just what i think. care to comment??
XD oh daphne loves derby...ily
My only crit of these lyrics would be that the line is "I've got my Maker's and all this time," as he's referring to Maker's Mark bourbon whiskey.
and?
and?
It sounds like he works backstage at a play. And he's talking about the star of the play, a play that people don't like. However I have no idea what that means.
Greeat song though :D
