i've never listened to this song but i do hope they had much fun writing it :)
strange thing to write a song about doesnt seem to be about anything really. just those little techniques people use to help them remember stuff. its a good tune though i love robots in diguise
I've always thought this song was about how personal identity is formed from memories (i.e.'the sum of me - my identity') and only by using 'tricks to remember' can you make sure that your memory doesn't fail you and therefore rob you of your past and experiences etc.
i really like about what they write. "normal" things, yet unusual, things that sometimes one thinks about a lot, like memories, memorizing, identity (well, some do :). they write so beautiful lyrics, the way to put it into words is kinda "poetic", in a way, not simple; flahing bits in it and jumping lines.
i agree with sezzley, "the identity formed from memories", could be in it. (though personally i think there is more to identity than that, "incorporated society" e.g., to get technical... :)
anyway, really cool!
At the end I think they say stuff like "... The first house I lived in the second was ... and i wonder why" "My sister... dragging it along the fence...playing drums and me thinking it was real... my boyfriends birthday" the ... are somethings i cant hear and there is much more after that can someone understand it get rid
