This and Moving to New York go so well together.
i can't believe how good the whole album is, i thought at first they were just going to be another generic " indie" band, but songs like this prove that they have great song writing skills, both lyrically and musically. i think this song is about a guy ( and from the sounds of it its an experience the lead singer has had) who really likes a girl who was either friends with a girl he really liked or his girlfriend, and they have now drifted apart, due to the singers percieved boringness and is just accepting that he is losing her even though he still likes her, and is basically giving up on it. just an amazing band with great lyrics in their music
I absolutly love all their songs, but some reason this one stands out. I wonder if they wrote this around xmas time? :) Their songs are so... 'normal', yet stil quite deep if you get me...

I think it's about a relationship that was innocent when they were young and only friends, but as they got older she got more of the older boys attention, and he just couldn't compare. More 'out of your league' references as well

Maybe saying she was signed and sealed meant that he practically had her but then she disappeared mysteriously as many of my things in the post have, or even that someone who did not own her stole her from him!!

this is a play on stevie wonder's singned, sealed, delivered much like let's dance to joy division is a mickey take of joy division. just makes the song meaning clearer and amusingly witty :) as most witty things are i guess.
