MOVING TO NEW YORK

To be honest I've got quite a different take on the meaning of this song:

He had a "party-bag" full of lies (something to do with the a girl perhaps) and now he just can't sleep.. because he keeps thinking over and over to whatever happened.. and he's going a bit mental, he realises it (just loosing touch or getting off the track.. the dialogue with Steve the guinea pig) and he decides to move to New York (playing a bit on the concept that is the city that never sleeps, but I think the truth is that he just wants to move to change the scenery around himself)

If you notice on the video he's all but happy.. it seems completely indifferent to everything and everybody.. So I guess that "Christmas came early" needs to be read in a sarcastic way..

Other clues.. "wearing your heart on your sleeves" is an english (as british englis) phrase that means to be open about the way you feel.. So.. "we are not the same and I'll wear that on my sleeves" can be read as: Things are obviusly not as they were and I'm gonna be bloody open about it.. Perhaps so honest that I'm gonna shout it out loudly.. which "is therapeutic somehow"

Obviously this is just my take..

I think than more than trying to fit into NY is more NY what fits him, and that's why he's moving out there, likely from a smaller, not as bustling place, where he might feel trapped. Ever heard anyone say that a town is too small for a person? It gives me the impression that is the case, because of the second paragraph: "Am I loosing touch or am I just completely off the track". Besides his "Christmas came early..." obviously means a very big joy about the whole thing. That's my opinion

i came on here cause im really intrigued by the 'christmas came early' line its a great lyric and maybe thats the only reason its there but i really wanna know if theres more meaning to it why is it 'like christmas came early'?

after reading through the lyrics again, im starting to think that maybe its like when you're a little kid, and you can't sleep on christmas eve, from excitement and such. also thought that maybe its something to do with how its darker outside around christmas time and he's only ever seeing the night sky...

or maybe its all to do with something thats going on meaning he can't sleep like, "i've just had the craziest week..." etc. and something about arguments happening around christmas time, or ahhh i dunno.

thoughts anyone?

apparently, its about how one of them really liked this girl, and they went to a club and saw her kissing a girl. dont really see how that fits with the lyrics though haha
