Blindness feeds the world to madness
Faith's crumbling, there's no doubt about it
Religion and science fighting a new kind of war

Helpless wander the streets in desperation
Fearless to the path they tread
Shameless the powers that butcher
Ignorant to the deeds that they commit

When all is said and done
Heaven lies in my heart
No slave to beliefs that propagate pain
When all is said and done
Heaven lies in our hearts
This life is a gift to be lived and loved

Fracturing the structure of nature
Iconic catalysts to slaughter
A stalemate bursting bound by contradictions

Heartless divine blueprints of hatred
Selfless Diseased master plans
Shameless the powers that butcher
Ignorant to the deeds that they commit

Decoded treachery shielding the tyranny
Black Bible tyrants behind masks of righteousness
Relentless the onslaught of misunderstanding
Descending into a unified chaos

One more chance for a shot at redemption
Lost within, can we summon the might?

these lyrics are amazing. this is what it means to me:

the first verse: people rely on blind faith, and true belief is fading. there's a constant battle between science and religon.

second: faiths/beleifs aren't enough to get you through life; and the people who have "faith" don't know what they're doing or anything about what they're saying.

chorus: neither science or religon can make you happy, or explain everything. true happiness is in you, and its your responsibilty to find it, and accept the life you have and learn to love it.

3rd: it doesn't matter what you believe in or who's right, either way its destroying us/nature. no matter what we can't prove anything

4th/5th: the difference of beliefs only cause war, though they don't realize what they're doing, or think its wrong. they think that since they're doing if for their god, then its ok to kill people, ok to bomb those who oppose.

"One more chance for a shot at redemption Lost within, can we summon the might?" to me those last lines are saying that we have a chance to fix all of this, to get away from this chaos, but its up to oursleves to fix what we've done

that's what the lyrics mean to me. not necessarily what they really mean.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
