Either way, great song, the part in question (at least for me) reminds me of The Stooges, or MC5

Heard this song in the movie "Point Break" (the original one, not the crappy re-make) Also, Rush does an outstanding cover of this song on their 2004 covers album "Feedback".

"My Bible's in the fireplace and my dog lies hypnotized" Released in July '66 the music publisher wouldn't publish a lyric like that. In August '66 John Lennon got into hot water in the U.S. for his remark on the comparative popularity of Jesus and the Beatles.
