Break the Silence Lyrics

As I live and breathe
I'm watching, watching the world die
We greet this with apathy no longer

Consumed by self
We walk through each day
With no mind to depravation and moral decay

We must destroy and rebuild
We must destroy and rebuild
For the sake of all, it starts with one
With one

As I live and breathe
I'm watching, watching the world die
We greet this with apathy no longer

If we can't break the silence ( can we survive?)
Search inside yourself (announce your life)
We must break the silence
Now we are alive
Silent no longer

Make this world, take notice
The change is in our hands
The battle has just begun
We are not defeated

If we can't break the silence ( can we survive?)
Search inside yourself (announce your life)
We must break the silence
Now we are alive
Silent no longer

With all that I am
I will lift my voice
To start this revolution
It starts today
And it starts with me
Time is no longer

With all I am
I will lift my voice
With all I am
It starts with me

Break the silence (2X)
We are alive
Break the silence (2X)
We are alive

Yeah, that's kind of what it's saying. It's about how we live life like nothing's happening in the world. And it's asking how everything will be in the end when nobody says anything, or "breaks the silence"

Basically a song aboout calling for a new social movement to make society a better place for everyone.

3 comments?! This song is RIGHT up there with the big KSE songs for me. The first thing I thought of when listening to the lyrics was non-specific war between nations. Just general war.

The riffs are absolutely astonishing... the song meaning im sure is great and everything but come on what about the sound.

All about trying to change the world and "breaking the silence" over many issues around the world

forgot the "how" in "how can we survive"

"know that your alive" not "announce your life"

yeah shot Night Skater! and it's also "silent no longer" not
"time is no longer"!

I also think that the song's religious intent is also greatly over looked! I reckon it's actually much more about how the traditional church is excluding the world in there preachings and is only focused on getting themselves saved!.... The second verse kinda confirms that for me!

anyway... brilliant song! and I can't wait for the next KSE album!

I agree with Jonnyboy, the song is pretty self-explanatory. And when it comes to killswitch its hard to over-look the religious intent in their songs period. However, the second verse may be directed towards the church in some way, i think the song needs to be taken as a whole in a pretty clear message to everyone that we need to "break the silence". In other words we need to speak out, and start making this world a better place for everyone, and that wont happen unless we all contribute.

so you mean, this song tell us to make this world a better place?

it seems everyone has the same idea about speaking up and if we do then we can try and change the world abit well hey anything is possible right...you just gotta know how to make it possible and leave out the impossible
