Used To The Pain Lyrics
And so I wrote this song for you
I think I know just what you’re goin’ through
Did you believe you’d never change
Nothin’ ever stays the same
I know it’s hard holdin’ on
And even harder tryin’ to let it go
And so you’re frozen like a stone
But you are not alone
(Chorus)
Every step I take I get a little less afraid
Of givin’ in to love
Believe me when I say it gets better every day
Once you get used to the pain
What you hide inside I see
There’s a scar and there’s always gonna be
There’s a past in everyone
You can’t undo, you can’t outrun
(Chorus)
Every step I take I get a little less afraid
Of givin’ in to love
Believe me when I say it gets better every day
Once you get used to the pain
(Solo)
(Chorus)
Every step I take I get a little less afraid
Of givin’ in to love
Believe me when I say it gets better every day
Once you get used to the pain
Once you get used to the pain
I think I know just what you’re goin’ through
Did you believe you’d never change
Nothin’ ever stays the same
And even harder tryin’ to let it go
And so you’re frozen like a stone
But you are not alone
Every step I take I get a little less afraid
Of givin’ in to love
Believe me when I say it gets better every day
Once you get used to the pain
There’s a scar and there’s always gonna be
There’s a past in everyone
You can’t undo, you can’t outrun
Every step I take I get a little less afraid
Of givin’ in to love
Believe me when I say it gets better every day
Once you get used to the pain
Every step I take I get a little less afraid
Of givin’ in to love
Believe me when I say it gets better every day
Once you get used to the pain
Once you get used to the pain

I can't believe there aren't any comments on this song. It's amazing.
I think it's about someone who has never been in or has had horrid luck with love, and they're just wishing for the right person to come along and wipe all the pain away. They are getting used to not having anyone there to lean on, and it's making life better
not thinking about the pain of not having anyone there.
**sorry, i walked away and thought i was finished, so i submitted.
I think it's about someone who has been hurt by someone in the past and they're afraid to fall in love again because they don't want to deal with the pain again. He's trying to tell this person that even though it's "hard holding on, and even harder trying to let it go" it will get easier to give into love as he/she gets used to the pain. This is one of my favorites from such a talented artist.
