To me, this is about a relationship where the two go through so much drama... but because of the love they share for each other, they just can't let go. They fight, then they hook back up, then they fight some more... over and over again this goes on, hence the "another again" line....

i especially love the part where he says, "so i got a new friend/i wish i could forget you but i miss you.... gotta find you again" ... that part explains it all to me: it's like, after they've broken up again, he meets someone new... but then he realizes that even though the new woman is ok, he can't let go of the one he loves, and he has to go get her back.. "again"...

the "she's like you, but she's not you" just proves that the whole time they were apart he was "looking" for her anyway.... after he realizes that even tho they fight, he still loves her... and there will never be another one just like her, he starts the cycle all over again....

I second that Pryncess33. It's such a fantastic representation of this type of relationship. You know better in your mind but your heart pulls you back to this person over and over again.

I've heard a cliche that states that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. This is insanity in relationship form and boy have I been there!

I think this is his best work.

To me it seems like a transitional stage. You know that you reach that point in a relationship where everything is going wrong, but you keep seeing each other, even though someone will end up in tears, but you just keep trying AGAIN, and eventually it clicks, just look at the last line.

He was blessed with an amazing voice

Favorite song off this album.. John Legend can put it down vocally..

What I'm gettin from tha song is, he's tryin to forget this girl but he can't cuz he loves her, but he has to get over her, but everytime he gets close he calls her back, and they back tryin to make a work & it don't work so another again.. Great song

Some people are sooo intoxicating, and even though you know you should stay away, you just can't. The passion, the danger, the sex and that special hold just takes over or makes you fall in love. Sometimes your heart rules your head. We've all been there, some people just have more will power and know when to end it , i know i didn't.

I think the key line is "Oh, she's not the best, but she's all that I know". It shows the perspective -- this woman is what he knows, so regardless of what she actually is, she has set a standard for him. That's why he looks for her in other women, why he keeps going back. It doesn't matter what qualities she possesses or doesn't, it's the power struggle, it's the forbidden fruit. It's everything this woman represents that he can't stay away from. That kind of passion can make a person think they're in love, when really he just wants control, and that's the one thing he can never keep in his relationship with her. Those kind of relationships can go on forever and ever.
