She's Madonna Lyrics
Oh, Madonna, Madonna
I don't miss you
Just who
You used to be
And you don't ring true
So please
Stop calling me
Your "I love you"'s
Are ten a penny
You're dropping clues
Like you've got any
You got to choose
There's been so many ohhhh
I love you baby
But face it she's Madonna
No man on earth
Could say that he don't want her
This look of love
Says I'm leaving
You're frozen now
I've done the freezing
I'm walking out
Madonna's calling me
She's got to be
Obscene to be believed
That's her routine
Not what she means to me
I found myself
By circumstance
Across a room
Where people dance
And quite by chance
She' danced right next me
I love you baby
But face it she's Madonna
No man on earth
Would say that he don't want her
It's me not you
I've got to move on
You're younger too
But she's got her groove on
I'm sorry love
Madonna's calling me
Oh, Madonna, Madonna
I want to tell you a secret
We're having drinks
With Kate and Stella
Gwyneth's here
She's brought her fella
But all I wanna do
Is take Madonna home
I love you baby
But face it she's Madonna
No man on earth
Would say that he don't want her
It's me not you
I've got to move on
You're younger too
But she's got her groove on
I'm sorry love

This song sounds quite nice. Not very deep, I really like how it sounds :)
Robbie says: "My life seems to be like a never ending edition of Jim'll fix it. I am truly blessed. The odds of Robbie Williams making a ninth album ten years ago would have been more than long against. To be writing this album and having my heroes work with me feels phenomenal. I played Tour De France by Kraftwerk and said "I like this, Can we do something like this, but not much like this", but then everything else came together pretty quickly. In case anyone asks: There is nothing tongue in cheek about this song at all, I have always fancied Madonna. I'd have hoped for it to be this good, but you can never tell before venturing into the studio. It is just a bonus that it worked out so well".
He names the Madonna' idea in order to take his excuse. Madonna potencialy is THE excuse to move on. Madonna here rapresents the "excuse" behing wich there is the "other woman". He emphasise by saying "No man on earth Could say that he don't want her " "I'm sorry love Madonna's calling me" that makes him from potencialy "droper" to globaly recognised "you are good to move on"
Well I heard it was about Guy richie's ex, the girl he was seeing when he met Madonna (a girl that Robbie dated at one stage too). Apparently the song is about how Guy dumped the girl, he was like 'I love you, but face it she's Madonna'. And that was the end of that...
I love the video for this!! Where he says : "I don't wanna claim that I'm special, but I'm a bit special!"
It's absolutely wicked!!!

The melody's great. Just catchy enough, and i think it sounds a bit like one of Aqua's song, "Turn Back Time".
To gorjess-girlie: This is a really new believable pice of info for me! I first thought about dedicating this song to myself :)
Before I was watching the video for the 1st time I thought the song is about Madonna and the kind of singers she represents:"She's got to be Obscene to be believed That's her routine". The one with a plain voice and and provocative attitude to get attention, who are trendy but probably might not leave a legacy to next generations. After watching the video the song title "She's MAdonna" becomes more and more interesting because of the question Who is the "She" in the line"She's Madonna". Robbie is dressed as a women, does that mean he refers the song title (or the whole song) to himself? That fits to the video's plot in which Robbie at the end sings in a club and noone is really listening to him.
@DirtyDiana, this site is about songs and not their videos. And @gorjess-girlie was right about the song. The Wikipedia entry about this song even links to a BBC article that states - this song is about how Guy Ritchie dumped his girlfriend Tania Strecker (a Danish model and a UK TV presenter) for Madonna. His excuse was the chorus of this song. Robbie Williams learned this from Tania, when he was her boyfriend himself.
Madonna actually approved the song per his request, as he didn't reveal the inner meaning to her. Only later Guy Ritchie realized it and therefore made Madonna not appear in the video as was planned (isn't it sad that Guy Ritchie controls Madonna?).
Yes, this is basically a song about celebrity gossip but, as BBC notes, "he's clearly run out of controversial ideas for interviews now, and has opted instead to use celebrity secrets he has gleaned from his ex-girlfriends as lyrical inspiration."
[Edit: Fixed spelling]
LWC, the site is called SongMeanings. Artists use video's to illustrate the meaning of their songs, so it's pretty silly to say it's not about their video's
I think that we can all agree on the fact that this is about Ritchie and Madonna. But I couldn't help it, so I kind of made my own interpretation of the song (which is actually quite similar to the actual meaning of the song). I think that it is generally about someone who is singing to his ex. He is saying that he loves (or loved) her, but there is another girl... and she will awlays be special, she will awlays be the one, he will awlays choose her, no matter what happens she will awlays come first. This is my interpretation, but it may be very subjective, because of my personal story and stuff.
