The Seedling Lyrics
I go out back to look up at her
Smiling unluckily at my red fur
And into my own I meld my nose
My full-sized child is fully unclothed
Birdies say I got no children, birdies never know
In my hidden life I've made a seedling grow
When it is cold I shelter her in
The wazimy warmth of the monkey skin
And into my own I fold my head
My full-sized child with full-sized spread
Birdies say I got no children, birdies never know
In my hidden life I've made a seedling grow
Hawks and doves and power fists
Black hand gripping our kid's wrists
Lanterns and arrows and little monk fish
They grant my every child wish
And birdies say I got no children, birdies never know
In my hidden life I've made a seedling grow
Birdies say I got no children, birdies never know
In my hidden life I've made a seedling grow
(Birdies say I got no children, birdies never know)
(In my hidden life I've made a seedling grow)
(Birdies say I got no children, birdies never know)
(In my hidden life I've made a seedling grow)
Smiling unluckily at my red fur
And into my own I meld my nose
My full-sized child is fully unclothed
In my hidden life I've made a seedling grow
The wazimy warmth of the monkey skin
And into my own I fold my head
My full-sized child with full-sized spread
In my hidden life I've made a seedling grow
Black hand gripping our kid's wrists
Lanterns and arrows and little monk fish
They grant my every child wish
In my hidden life I've made a seedling grow
Birdies say I got no children, birdies never know
In my hidden life I've made a seedling grow
(Birdies say I got no children, birdies never know)
(In my hidden life I've made a seedling grow)
(Birdies say I got no children, birdies never know)
(In my hidden life I've made a seedling grow)

What are your interpretations of these lyrics?
my red fur?
The wazimy warmth of the monkey skin?
and finally, this;
Hawks and doves and power fists Black hand gripping our kid's wrists Lanterns and arrows and little monk fish They grant my every child wish
My impression is that the song is mainly about not being able to have children. What instead? Is it delirium or rather nightmares?
well I think the seedling is his inner child. look at the language he uses--the child is starting to dominate. the "red fur", I think, is his public hair. the speaker is in a sexual relationship. the third verse is harder to penetrate. maybe it speaks to the seedling's fears?
