Darling
I can stay awake all night
and I would make mistakes, alright
cause the body asks so much.
Sweet thing
I give you what I reach
taken what I had to teach
and re-rendered it with such
with such
with such.
O, it don't rain anymore
I go outdoors
where it's fun to be
and I know you love me
I know you do.
I can stay awake all night
and I would make mistakes, alright
cause the body asks so much.
Sweet thing
I give you what I reach
taken what I had to teach
and re-rendered it with such
with such
with such.
O, it don't rain anymore
I go outdoors
where it's fun to be
and I know you love me
I know you do.

'and I know you love me
I know you do'
one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard
The last line's delivery has always intrigued me, its almost left hanging(the first time I heard this I had to check my mp3 to see if the song had indeed stopped). It almost turns the affirmation of someones love around and questions it without really doing so.
Don't really know why I wrote this given that the last comment was posted near-enough a year ago, guess this song just deserves a little more love.
"And I know you love me/I know you do..."
The fact that he doesn't say it just once, he adds "I know you do" really makes it sound like he's trying to convince himself and possibly the subject of the song that he/she DOES love him. Of course, my interpretation is that this is a dream/illusion and he's just trying to convince himself that one day, this person will love him.
Such a beautiful, happy, and damned depressing song.
unbelievable song.
