Carry Around Lyrics
I got magic in my head, magic up my nose, magic coming out my fingers, magic crying out my eyes. I've got magic everywhere I fucking look. I can't fight it either, I wish I could.
Step foot down
Hold him to the ground
Whine though he may, you've got some bills to pay
It's all I've ever known it's everything until I say so, you say "so say so."
Okay, I've got lots of friends
in rather dry places
I've got lots of pills in my pocket
If you want some, I'd like to share
With you and everyone that you care about.
But I don't know what to do for you?
Do you care
I don't know what's best for you
Sick and dying
I've been spending all my time
Sleeping of concious debts
and licking bags clean of everything I love
and anything I can carry around
I'm a restless rat
strun up and burnt out.
Losing my fur to the wind
Catching looks from baby, white mice
Bastards in a black weeping vice.
But sometimes, the sunlight
It just won't let me cry
When leaves tickle my arms I can't help but let my mouth sing.
Sing out words of trust
In a language I still don't comprehend
What does meaning mend in the end?
I don't know what to do for you
I don't know what's best for you
I don't know what to do for you
I don't know what's best for you
But sometimes, the sunlight
It just won't let me cry
When leaves tickle my arms I can't help but let my mouth sing.
Sing out words of trust
In a language I still don't comprehend
What does meaning mend in the end?

it's "magic crying out my eyes." it's written in the lyrics book. you read the Pitchfork review. they're a bunch of pompous idiots and they completely misquoted it.
"I got magic in my head, magic up my nose, magic coming out my fingers, magic crying out my ass"
it's ass not eyes.
i read it quoted in a review of the new album
i love annuals
"Sick and dying I've been spending all my time Sleeping OFF concious debts"
actually it's "I got magic in my head, magic up my nose, magic coming out my fingers, magic CRAWLING out my ass"
disreguard my last comment, but i could have sworn it was crawling but after listening to it on repeat it very may well be crying though the former seems to make more sense to me.
I'm pretty sure this song is about drugs/stress.
...that's all I've got.
I got magic in my head, magic up my nose, magic coming out my fingers, etc.. is about a variety of drugs honestly and you can tell by the lyric "licking bags clean of everything I love and anything I can carry around" its about yeyo most likely from experience. but i love the part where they describe the environment wont let them feel any negative emotion, i love the song.
this is truly an amazing song... it's all about drugs and the pull they have on you. the speaker's relationship to another person has been ruined by his drug habit, and he doesn't know what to do about it. the speaker's friend/family/partner wants him to acknowledge the danger of his lifestyle, but the speaker knows he's way too caught up in it to desert it. he has nothing left. but he's still in love with nature, in spite of it all. he has something to hold on to.
this song reminds me of a psalm...
david would most likely sympathize.
i also like how the melody and the sound of the song are so happy-sounding, yet the subject matter is serious.
definitely the best song on the cd. annuals does a fantastic job with lyrics.
