Let Your Love Be Strong Lyrics
this song is beautiful and honest. we need God's love amongst the world and its turmoil. Tim said it was a prayer from him to God about His love staying strong. the interview is at hearitfirst.com so go check it out! (if you haven't already!)
this song feels like the sister of 'let that be enough'
Hey everyone. Love this song to bits. How can one describe it? I don't think it's possible, just beautiful. Anyway, to me it's just saying so much in this world is not how it's meant to be and all that's left that is honest and worth holding onto is love, God's and our own. A simple message but whoever said it needed to be complex, it's just beautifully conveyed. Interesting question. I the line 'maybe our stars are unanimously tired' do you think Jon's referring to 'stars' as in the stars in the sky or 'stars' as in celebrity stars? I just assumed he meant stars in the sky but the reference to Los Angeles in the line before suggests he could mean celebrities. I don't know the relevance of that, just an random thought I had. Love to hear your views.
I think this song is about all the bad things going on in this world. So he asks god for help in the hard times.
In this world of news I've found nothing new I've found nothing pure Maybe I'm just idealistic to assume that truth Could be fact and form That love could be a verb Maybe I'm just a little misinformed
There is nothing good in the news. He thought there was good in this world. But he got the feeling he was mistaking from watching the news.
As the dead moon rises And the freeways sigh Let the trains watch over the tides and the mist Spinning circles in our skies tonight Let the trucks roll in from Los Angeles Maybe our stars are unanimously tired
As the world rests from all the bad things happening in the world. Ready to gain strenght for another day.
Let your love be strong And I don’t care what goes down Let your love be strong enough To weather through the thunder clouds Fury and thunder clap Like stealing the fire from your eyes All of my world hanging on your love
He says gods help is needed in this dark times.
Let the wars begin Let my strength wear thin Let my fingers crack Let my world fall apart Train the monkeys on my back to fight Let it start tonight When my world explodes When my stars touch the ground Falling down like broken satellites
Feels like he really had it and he wants it 2 end. For a better life. So he says if the world doesn't change, it will go to hell. And he doesn't see it changing without god. So if yhe world won't listen why not let the world explode right away. Cause he can't take it anymore
Let your love be strong And I don’t care what goes down Let your love be strong enough To weather through the thunder clouds Fury and thunder clap Like stealing the fire from your skies All that I am hanging on All of my world resting on your love
All the strenght he has left comes from god and not from the evil world
i love this song....can you tell by my username?? :) switchfoot is just amazing thats all i can say...
Very poetic song, and wonderfully composed. The second verse, with the drums and strings backing, is very powerful.
Crescendo-- the like "train the monkeys on my back to fight" refers to the expression "monkey on my back" (see Led Zeppelin's "Nobody's Fault but Mine")... the expression is another way of saying that you have a problem that is burdening your mind.
I think in that line, and in that stanza in general, Jon is asking for all that is already slowly happening to quickly commence (wars beginning, the world falling to pieces) and get it over with.
These are the clips on the website. I'm changing all these to the full songs when the CD comes out.
Someone one posted the lyrics not on the clip on the switchfoot board, so I'm not sure if they are right. If anyone could send me the itunes interview, since I don't have iTunes, that would be much appreciated.
i know the last part of this is right... I recorded part of it at a show with my cell.
But I love this song. Jon uses it to calm the audience down, then does DYTM to end it on a great note... Amazing live show.
"Let your love be strong, and I don't care what goes down Let your love be strong enough to weather through the thunder cloud Fury and thunder clap like stealing the fire from your eyes All of my world hanging on your love"
Apparently.
This a great song by the way. :D
