My God Is A Reasonable Man Lyrics
I don't care, I won't preach it
My god's a reasonable man
You preach the facts of sacred prayers
But you're a terrorist of bigotry
Fueled by text that was written
In dead languages and different times
I don't care, I won't preach it
My god's a reasonable man
I don't care, I won't preach it
My god's a reasonable man
I don't care, I won't preach it
My god's a reasonable man
And your justice, and your lifestyle
My god's a reasonable man
And your faith doesn't speak for us all
'Cause my god's a reasonable man
It's time to separate faith and politics
It's time to realize that in ten years' time
This song will be all that's left of me
And this song won't need to be sung
Your problem is that
You think it's no use
And swimming in another christian world
Now you have the balls so show the power
So why's the shit back in human rights?
Get what? Get back!
My god's a reasonable man
Get what? Get back!
My god's a reasonable man
Our hands again
They will get sick
All with your politics
By mixing god
This city war
You take all of your
Convictions to the morgue
Get what? Get back!
Get what? Get back!
My god's a reasonable man
Get what? Get back!
My god's a reasonable man
My god's a reasonable man
But you're a terrorist of bigotry
Fueled by text that was written

22jesus22 got the meaning pretty much right.
I'd also like to add that it's a good thing that Alexisonfire is speaking their mind openly about this stuff. Most bands would be scared to lose their Christian fanbase with a song like this, but AoF had the balls to write this song. I have so much more respect for them after hearing this song.
(and I am also a proud Atheist)
I think this song is about bringing religion back to a personal level. Religions like Christianity and Islam cause a breakup in the human race. They teach people to judge and there is only on right way to live, which is completely wrong. You can clearly see that this song is talking about making sure religion and politics aren't mixed. Things like same sex marriage come to mind. We has people have to be less judgmental and learn to accept and respect people for who they are. We shouldn't let a book that’s hundreds of years old tell us how to live our lives. The belief in a God is a personal choice and we shouldn't be shoving it down people’s throats. Organized religion is what’s destroying the world and I think its time people did something about it. We can't be this foolish, the world is in trouble and us as humans are doing nothing but aiding in its destruction.
Also I am very impressed with the improvement Alexis made lyrically with Crisis, there song has a lot more meaning and the sound is still fucking amazing. This has to be one of the most passionate bands out there, they love doing what they do and I think they've realized how many people they can actually reach with their music.
Also I’d just like to mention I’m a proud atheist
What are you basing that on? you realize tt was a special track that came with Crisis? When you bought the CD that came with the memory stick, this song was on the stick along with some other stuff.
yeah adelledaforever what the hell are you talking about is this not a b-side track of crisis just like thrones?
ok ok chill i didnt know its just not been talked about very much or anythin so i assumed thats all
hahha "ok ok chill" I didn't realize I was the individual who said "dum fuck." Maybe this is a case where you should take some of your own advice. You also sounded very confident for someone making an assumption. Oh well better luck next time.
being a christian this song in a way makes me really mad and really sad because it points out the fact that christians are stupid, hypocritical, judgemental, inconsistent, close-minded, and full of flaws. The reason it makes me so mad is because unlike what 22jesus22 said the Bible never actually tells us to be judgemental but some christians think that because they believe a certain way that makes them better than others but that's not christianity that's "bigotry" and it's wrong how so many people believe this that it's become a stereotype of christians. The Bible teaches us to love everyone that's why when songs like this are made they make me sad that christians, the people who are told to love everyone, turn people away because they believe differently when really we, not just as a faith but everyone in the world, should embrace them and their beliefs. and to those out there who dislike christians because of the way that they have been treated by christians Im deeply sorry. True christians arent offensive only ignorant christans are
and to all of those out there im just telling my point of view and if you believe differently and want to ask me anything go ahead ill always listen i love hearing peoples beliefs
In my opinion, it's not really an anti-Christia song. It's about their belief that religion should be a more personal thing, and shouldn't be involved in politics or used as a way to elevate yoursel above others. Although I do also dislike that stereotype. I'm agnostic, but I have some Christian friends who are very nice people who respect my views.

and by the way this band and this song are awesome I love the lyrical and musical developement of this band. Their mature sound really comes through on this song and it just is amazing
@camcraka911
You seriously think the bible never taught Christians to be judgemental?? Have you ever read any of Leviticus 20?
If people knew about/followed the teachings in that chapter, the world would be a very scary place...
In the bible it says we do not judge, for Jesus is the judge. You make it sound like the bible will destroy the world, its the only REAL truth out here nowadays, sin is everywhere
