@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
Dressed to kill, you look so right
I am drunk with lust tonight
Your wounds are opening wide
And they might be just my size
Now I'm afraid of open water
But I often bathe in sin
Let's be honest, you know you shouldn't bother
Cause with me, it's impossible to win
Dressed to kill, you look so right
I am drunk with lust tonight
Your wounds are opening wide
And they might be just
There was always
Warmth between us
There was always
Warmth between us
Dressed to kill, you look so right
I am drunk with lust tonight
Your wounds are opening wide
And they might be just my size
Just my size, just my size
Just my size, just my size
Just my size, just my size
Just my size, just my size
Just my size.
I am drunk with lust tonight
Your wounds are opening wide
And they might be just my size
Now I'm afraid of open water
But I often bathe in sin
Let's be honest, you know you shouldn't bother
Cause with me, it's impossible to win
Dressed to kill, you look so right
I am drunk with lust tonight
Your wounds are opening wide
And they might be just
There was always
Warmth between us
There was always
Warmth between us
Dressed to kill, you look so right
I am drunk with lust tonight
Your wounds are opening wide
And they might be just my size
Just my size, just my size
Just my size, just my size
Just my size, just my size
Just my size, just my size
Just my size.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.
Punchline

Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
Page

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
I think this song is about expanding the limits of friendship with sex/love. I have this whole picture in my head of a boy and a girl just talking as usual and then suddenly suffering a change in their perspectives of each other. When he says "Your wounds are opening wide And they might be just my size", I think he's refering to all the secrets his friend has shared with him, and how he feels he could be the one that fixes all of her problems.
I don't think it's about rape at all. I truely feel this song represents a couple that have broken up after a long relationship. He speaks of being afraid of open water, which I think means he is afraid of entering a new long-term relationship, but bathes in sin often, aka sleeps around trying to fill the void inside. When it gets into the chorus and he speaks of dressed to kill, I think its where they have finally met up again (for some reason I see them in a car at night) and shes dressed up to show him whats he's missing out on. Her wounds are opening wide - old flame still there and they might be just his size - meaning he probably caused them. Reconfirmed when he says there was always warmth between us.. Speaks of their history. Basically :)
at their gig 2 nigjts ago ..dallas played it accoustic and he said ..."this is for all of those who've gotta crush on sum1"
I don't think its about rape. To me, its about a man with so much lust for a woman, hes taking advantage of her weak state (Your wounds are opening wide). I think shes broken up with someone she loved, and the 'wounds' are emotional. The guy in the song is taking this as his opportunity, thinking he can fill the emotional gap this guy left; "Your wounds are opening wide And they might be just my size." Makes sense, right? Hes also trying to persuade her that his intentions are the best for her, too. "There was always Warmth between us" Any opinions, i'd be glad to hear 'em.

Love / Lust my guess
My guess is that this could be song about cheating or just a rebound from a relationship that just went downhill recently.. my reason for this is that he says he often bathe's in sin.. and then later on when he is singing there was always warmth between us, its like he's trying to persuade the girl to go along with it.
"your wounds are opening wide tonight, and they just may be my size" kinda sounds like he is just recovering something and sees taht the girl is also doing the same..
my favorite alexisonfire song, i dunno why, its just so mellow and amazing i absoultely love it...
i think that this song is about rape/date rape mostly
I believe the correct lyrics are
Dressed to kill, you look so right. Are you calling their bluffs tonight?
