Sparkling grey
There my own veins

Any more than a whisper
Any sudden movement of my heart
And I know
I know I'll have to watch them pass away
Just get through this day

Give up your way
You could be anything
Give up my way
And lose myself?

Not today
That's too much guilt to pay

Sickened in the sun
You dare tell me you love me
But you held me down and screamed you wanted me to die,

Honey, you know
You know, I'd never hurt you that way
You're just so pretty in your pain

Give up my way
And I could be anything
I'll make my own way
Without your senseless hate
Hate
Hate
Hate

So run, run, run
And hate me if it feels good
I can't hear your screams anymore

You lied to me
But I'm older now
And I'm not buyin' baby

Demanding my response
Don't bother breaking the door down
I've found my way out
And you'll never hurt me again

Here's what I heard about the song:

"Sparkling gray, then my own veins"- I heard once that when people are choking to death, colors fade, and everything around them seems to be sparkling, and when they shut their eyes, they can see the veins in their eyelids.

"Anymore than a whisper, any sudden movement of my heart"- She has to be incredibly careful what she says and does so she doesn't make him mad. (Abusers are very aggressive, and they insist on controlling every single aspect of the victim's life through fear).

"And I know, I know I'll have to watch them pass away"- I think this means she is afraid that one day he'll get so mad at her, he'll kill her.

"Just get through this day"- She tells herself constantly to endure the challenges of her life, possibly because she is hoping to find her way out of this relationship alive.

"Give up your way, you could be anything"- She's telling him that he could be anything he wanted if he wasn't so aggressive.

"Give up my way, and lose myself"- I have always thought that she was talking about giving up always being a victim.

"Not today, there's too much guilt to pay"- She is putting off becoming a stronger person because she feels guilt over ever becoming a victim in the first place.

"Sickened in the sun, you dare tell me you love me"- He is in trouble now, probably because she wants to leave, and he's telling her how he loves her and he's sorry so she'll stay.

"But you held me down and screamed you wanted me to die"- However, he treats her horribly, and she knows he won't change.

"Honey you know, you know I'd never hurt you that way"- She's telling him that she would never push him down and them help him up so she could knock him down again.

"You're just so pretty in your pain"- She's saying that she would only hurt him so that she could see him hurt.

"Give up my way, and I could be anything"- She's saying she could be whatever she wanted if she gained control of her own life- staring with this relationship she's in.

"I'll make my own way, without your senseless hate"- She decides to leave him, and find a new path.

"So run, run, run, and hate me if it feels good, I can't hear your screams anymore"- She's saying he can deny he ever hurt her, and try to get her back, but it's useless. He can hate her if he wants, but she won't care, because she won't be around to hear him screaming at her.

"You lied to me, but I'm older now, and I'm not buying, baby"- He promised her everything, and she believed him, but now that she knows him, she doesn't believe a thing he says.

"Demanding my response, don't bother breaking the door down"- She doesn't have to say another word to him, and he shouldn't bother finding her and demanding a reason why she left.

"I've found my way out, and you'll never hurt me again"- She's moved on, and she'll never go back to him again.

Well, that's my understanding, and I suppose it's a more optimistic one, but the suicide theory works too.

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
