Two Worlds Lyrics

Kill It Tonight!!!

Two Worlds Are Warring In Me,
Killing Us Now,
Raging Inside
Measure My Horror In Me,
Remove the Sickness,
Plaging my Mind
Two Worlds are Warring in me,
Killing Us Now...
Show Me the light!

Chorus:
Two Worlds Collide, Whenever I Step To The Front
I Look for a New place to Hide,
While Tearing my color away
I Swallow My Pride,
But Never forget What I Want,
Standing Alone for a Time,
Out there in the war in my mind

Two Worlds Are Warring in me,
Both Sides are Losing,
Patience has Died
None of the Martyr in me,
Drowns my Conviction,
Regions Divide
Two Worlds are Warring in me,
Killing Us Now...
Show me the Light!

(Chorus)

*Solo*

Give Me a Sign!
Tell Me When its Time!
Show me the Light!
Tell Me When Its FUCKING OVER.

I have read somewhere that David Draiman comes from a very conservative Jewish family and that his parents expected him to become a rabbi. So I guess this song is about how he is torn between his actual life and his education, and how he has to be a different person when he is around his family. There is a picture of him at his brother's wedding in Israel, where he is wearing the traditionnal little hat (don't know the name, sorry) and has removed his earrings and lip piercing, and I think it illustrates that song very well.

My Interpretation

The kind of deep indecision within that tears you up inside.

Yea, I agree with DeoFayte. Deep indecision and worrys of staying true to yourself. Inner Conflict.

yes it's just like that, or it could be the description on those moment on a life (or the whole life) spent between "two worlds", two situations, both situations are not good, and when you try to make a step to the front, to try to evade from those situations, you simply get smashed again. it's important the number two, well, two or more, couse if u simply have one situation, one world which u don't want no more, you can simply leave it... while two world are colliding, so if you try to escape from the first one, you will arrive on the second one, there is no escape.

THERE IS NO ESCAPE!. That is the undertone of the side. It is the battle between ego and soul. The struggle to deny worldly pleasures is a constant battle, especially being a rock-star. It's a losing battle because we all die in the end no matter what

I agree with DeoFayte. A choice must be made...a difficult one from the sound of it.

Disturbed forever.

It might be me but I think the first line is not "kill it tonight" but "give it to me" also the line "Standing Alone for a Time, Out there in the war in my mind", I think it may be "starting to long for a time, not fearing the war in my mind"

i have been wrong before so listen carfully, dont let me confuse anyone. I think this way makes sense but the other lines are not bad ether.

oh and I think this song has just so much power to it like most of distrubed's stuff. I like the way that each song can be viwed differantly. I know that depending on how I am feeling that day 3 mins of disturbed could have me ripping faces off, or just realy relaxed.

I think that this song is about the two wings of United States politics. Democrats and Republicans, and in fact some liberals and conservatives in general, are at eachother's throats simply for ideological differences and over nothing worth fighting about. Take Obamacare for example: the GOP wants to crush it despite having a ton of injustifiable ventures and expenses under their belt, and many conservatives condemn the concepts of communism and socialism despite having no clear understanding thereof. (By the way, coordinatorism is the correct term for the system of government often given the misnomer "communism".) And Democrats made the mistake of using abortion as a party platform, and Barack Obama milked that platform for all it was worth to secure some of the Democratic vote despite having no policies on the matter.

But I digress - the point is that the right and left wings act as though at war with one another, slinging mud at eachother in political campaigns and criticizing eachother's decisions and ideas. Granted, conservatives seem to be more aggressive when it comes to this, although there are some people on one wing or the other who take no sides and are respectful of the other wing, such as Bob Lonsbury. (And by the way, Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage are evil; do not try to deny it.) As individuals, they differ, but as units, they at times have a single-minded desire to conquer/defeat eachother.

I think the first person in the lyrics is the United States, although it could be just Washington or Congress, which makes sense because in recent years at least, when the US government tries to make a policy or decide something important, the right wing and left wing let their ideological differences get in the way of that decision ("Two worlds collide whenever I step to the front".). This is ultimately detrimental to the nation and appears very self-destructive ("Two worlds are warring in me, killing us now."). Furthermore, does this get us anywhere? It seems not ("Both sides are losing").

The rest of the lyrics I leave up to you to figure out.

My Interpretation

note: This sort of thing could also hold true of Conflict on The Sickness, Conflict being the more aggressive version, from the perspective of the left and right, and this being the more tragic version, from the perspective of the nation as a whole, the politically unaligned and such.

i think its more literal

i think it might be having to make one decision out of two, hence two worlds, nd watever desicion u make u dont know how its going to affect u
