It's Far Better to Learn Lyrics
You'd better learn
That this will not blow over and over
High above they're taking over you
And you should know
I will not let you go, let you go
What is my body worth?
Was there a price set before?
There's something greater there
What is my body worth?
Was there a price set before?
Iit's not gonna change you
We walk along but never turn to see what we have done
(what we have done)
We chose our move so carefully for oyu
(carefully for you)
I will not let you go, let you go
What is my body worth?
Was there a price set before?
There's something greater there
What is my body worth?
Was there a price set before?
It's not gonna change you
What is my body worth?
Was there a price set before?
It's not gonna change you
I believe in nothing
Why believe in nothing at all
I believe in nothing
Why believe in nothing at all
What is my body worth?
Was there a price set before?
There's something greater there

I think this song is about how we put a "price tag" on ourselves and how there's a life there that is far too valuable to put a price on. He also asks why should we believe in nothing. Maybe he finds this worth from God (I don't think he does) or maybe he just believes that we should believe in something. A lot of different things it could mean.
Actually I find it kind of funny... because I feel like this song is how my relationship with my girlfriend is now...
So how I personally interpret it is that the girl is treating him like crap, (He is asking her what his "body is worth") and she doesn't seem to see what she's doing to him ("We walk along but never turn to see what we have done"). But (in my case at least), he still loves her and doesn't want to leave her ("I will not let you go, let you go"). Another issue is that she keeps doing what shes doing over and over again ("Its not gonna change you") and it's as if there was a "price set before", showing that it's almost as if there's only a maximum amount of respect that she is treating him with.
Plus, he is trying hard to do everything to make the relationship work ("We've chose our steps carefully for you"), also showing that he was exclusively making the relationship work for her.
With the title (It's Far Better To Learn), I'm taking a long jump here, but I feel like it's saying how its better to learn from your mistakes, than for them to go unnoticed. Of course though, that's more of an obvious statement... Possibly the title is just emphasizing it?
Anyways, I understand that this can be religious, but I saw a comment saying how other band members try to make it be relatable to other situations.
Lucky for me though, my girlfriend and I aren't in as much shit as what I interpreted the song to be x]

Another reason why I think she is treating him crap constantly is because in the song, he says "You'd better learn That this will not blow over and over". Showing that she has done it numerous times before.

And about the title, I think its connected to the lyrics "Youd better learn", saying in the end there are going to be consenquences (such as HE breaking up with SHE), but it's better to learn and be hurt, then to not hurt and not learn at all.

I believe it has quite a religious/philisophical meaning. In terms of how Christ, along with many others, said to treat the body as a temple for your soul.
How much is your temple worth? I also think he's crying out to God/Christ/Anyone, asking, "What IS my body worth?" Christ gave his body for man, how can I treat mine in likeness of him?
I also believe the lyrics say, " Why believe in nothing, Why believe in nothing at all?"
Saying if you believe in nothing, what are you then?
It's basically just asking if your body is priceless in your eyes as it is in Christ's.
And the beginning of the song where it says :
"You didn't learn That this will not blow over and over High above they're taking over you And you should know I will not let you go, let you go"
I think is referring how Christ/God will always try to teach you and guide you to heaven 'high above" and never let you go and never give up on you, as they try to 'tak(e)[ing] over you" through the holy spirit, no matter how many times you "didn't learn"
This is an almost perfect passage from the bible :
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
But overall in all honestly, it's all in how YOU interpret it. I'd say Christ is a strong force in my life so this is how the song affects me. That's the beauty of music and lyrics, absolutely EVERYONE hears and interprets it completely differently.
this song is amazing great opening song.
This is definitely not about prostitution.

I think it's about a relationship he has with a girl and he is saying that even though his band is getting bigger it's not going to change their relationship and he is still the same person. Maybe she feels like she's not good enough now so he's saying "was there a price set before?" as in like is he worth more now than he was before. With so many female fans being so into his looks he probably feels like his body is a commodity of the band.

Amazing song.
It's talking to a girl. How much he means to her. He doesn't want to let her go. Ect. ect. ect.
hahahahahhahahaha zigen
this is about them signing with capitol and trying to reassure the fans that theyll still be the same dudes and wont change. i could be TOTALLY wrong but hey im taking a WILD guess lol. or probably something relating to god because cove is a mormon???
I seriously think this song has a lot to do with God and Cove's beliefs. Mormons believe that their bodies are gifts from God and that they should respect them physically.. that goes for health and being chaste. Mormons believe in the reserection which is literally the reunifacation of body and spirit just like how Jesus reserrected. As far as saying "was there a price set before" that has a deep meaning as well.. there is a scripture in the new testament (Corinthians 6:19-20) which says our body is like a temple and we are bought...

This song is amazing and i love it becaus im a Mormon!
Huh? Meh, the god thing could work. Honestly, I think it's about a relationship that isn't working out exactly like the guy planned. Maybe he just found out the girl only likes him for his body, nothing deeper. I don't know, but that's what I think.
i SERIOUSLY agree. at first, i was all "oh, cove's a pretty okay singer, give him a chance" or whatever, then i saw them live and heard their new stuff. blah :( i would like the old saosin back kthx
These aren't even the correct lyrics. Idiots.
Wicked good song though.
