The Day I Left The Womb Lyrics

Mother, where are you today?
You took a piece of me the day you went away
No recollection or the smell of your perfume
I took a piece of you the day I left the womb
(The day I left the womb)

Brother, put your needles down
The best thing for you is to leave this awful town
Pretty soon you'll have kids to feed
If you see mother, tell her I can sing

Please don't worry I am doing fine
You're much too busy to even find the time
So use your chemicals and take this to your grave
The boys you left are men you didn't raise

And daddy, how are you today?
You must be proud of the boys that you have raised
Your withered heart, and everything its seen
Your cuts and calluses; you had kids to feed
(You had kids to feed)

Please don't worry I am doing fine
You're much too busy to even find the time
So use your chemicals and take this to your grave
The boys you left are men you didn't raise

Hm... I don't know if someone said this already but... I always thought he said "If you see mother, tell her I can sing." But maybe that's just me?

Yeah, this is what I miss. This song is amazing, Ronnie has a great voice. Escape The Fate isn't the same anymore, and I hate it. They used to be amazing, they're nothing without Ronnie. This song, like most other songs by them, actually has a different meaning, most songs other people write are about being brokenhearted. None of their songs were ever like that. but now that's all they're about. && Craig, has talent, but it just doesnt work in this band. They used to have a diverse and unique sound, and i loved it, now its gone.

This has to be one of my favorite songs on the album, I love it. Especially the chorus when he says "please don't--" that open voice makes my heart stop.

I think it pretty much is about a guy who's mom passed away, or left the family when he was a child. And ever since then his family is falling apart.

Like in: "Mother, where are you today?" (She died, or left) "Brother, put your needles down" (Family is falling apart) "The boys you left are men you didn't raise" (She left them as children)

Amazing song.

Mother, where are you today? -He's asking where she is...

You took a piece of me the day you went away -She took a piece of his heart and his life when she moved out of the house

No recollection or the smell of your perfume -Theres no trace of her anywhere

I took a piece of you the day I left the womb -But also he took a piece of her life the day he was born

Brother, put your needles down -He's telling his brother to stop doing drugs

The best thing for you is to leave this aweful town -It's probably a bad town, poor, and he wants him to leave

Pretty soon, you'll have kids to feed -It's his older brother and hes getting kind of old and will probably have kids someday

If you see mother, tell her I can sing -Once big brother leaves he might go looking for mother, so tell her he can sing!

Please don't worry, I am doing fine -He's trying to reassure her that they are doing fine without her

You're much too busy to even find the time -Trying to make her feel bad my saying she was too busy to raise her own children

So use your give and go's and take this to your grave -again trying to make her feel bad, so remember this until you die

The boys you left are men you didn't raise -She left her children, and now the little babies she left are now men she never got to raise

And Daddy, how are you today? -He's making his dad feel good

You must be proud of the boys you have raised -He should be proud of the boys that he has raised

Your withered heart and everything it's seen -Telling him he's getting pretty old

Your constant calices you had kids to feed -At least he stayed with his kids, and used his money to feed them but mother did not have kids to feed

You had kids to feed

Please don't worry, I am doing fine You're much too busy to even find the time So use your give and go's and take this to your grave The boys you left are men you didn't raise

This is pretty amazing... Thank you =)

This is what I got out of it:

Mother, where are you today? You took a piece of me the day you went away No recollection or the smell of your perfume I took a piece of you the day I left the womb

Brother, put your needles down The best thing for you is to leave this aweful town Pretty soon, you'll have kids to feed If you see mother, tell her I can say

Please don't worry, I am doing fine You're much too busy to even find the time So use your chemicals and take this to your grave The boys you loved are men you didn't raise

And Daddy, how are you today? You must be proud of the boys you have raised Your withered heart and everything it's seen Your constant calices ???

Please don't worry, I am doing fine You're much too busy to even find the time So use your chemicals and take this to your grave The boys you loved are men you didn't raise

I don't know which is more right though... I guess we'll just have to wait until more people hear it

"Your cuts and calices, you against defeat" is what i hear

I think you were right with "Your cuts and calices" though. I don't know about the rest of that line...

Namdeeb from what i hear your lyrics are right

where you have the question mark it should be

Your constant calices you had kids to feed

Cover art for The Day I Left The Womb lyrics by Escape the Fate

And the line that says

The boys you left, or men you didnt raise.

should be

The boys you left, ARE men you didnt raise.

Yeah, I do agree that it's "The boys you left" not what I had.
