The Guillotine Lyrics
I see the smoke from the hilltop
They march one by one
The battled starts adversaries
We bathe in our blood
The worst is yet to come
We've reached the covenant
To kill what we have started
Kill the machines
We've spawned to fight in the darkest hour
We really gotta go
(We fight to live, we fight for pride) they really need to know
(We won't back down the weak won't survive) we really gotta go
Promise me you won't leave my side (the warmest place to lie my head)
And when the sun comes up we fight (don't let them find us or we're dead)
So promise me you won't leave my side
The smoke has cleared
Thousands are destroyed
They send signals no salvation
We fight in lock out
Scope is ready to go
Armed with explosives
Spartans stand alone
We really gotta go
(We fight to live, we fight for pride) they really need to know
(We won't back down the weak won't survive) we really gotta go
Promise me you won't leave my side (the warmest place to lie my head)
And when the sun comes up we fight (don't let them find us or we're dead)
So promise me you won't leave my side
Promise me you won't leave my side (the warmest place to lie my head)
And when the sun comes up we fight (don't let them find us or we're dead)
So promise me you won't leave my side
They seek destruction and kill the functions

I think with Ronnie in the band they wouldnt have gotten big. With Craig they just might...its less "hardcore" and more what the average listener wants to listen to. Songs like "Something" "Ashley" "You Are So Beautiful" and "Harder Than You Know" are all perfect examples. None-the-less I still am a huge fan.
hahaha, their new music makes me laugh. especially harder than you know like if you compare that to this song. it's so funny.

Ha! Growls from the underworld-- that's so true. I'm sure if you're into hardrock and you've listened to this song, you know by now it's amazing. This band has really made a statement about their sound. I think this song might derive from feelings on war, pride and weakness. The lyrics tend to speak more of death and pain. Maybe something the band relates to personally. Overall, the thing that humors me most about this band is that they claim to change the state of hardcore, and true they are amazing, but if you asked me they sound just like From First to Last or The Autumn Offering. Rawk Out Punk Kidds!

i like this song because it's so diverse. it's kind of screamo, then it busts into something that reminds me of tacky 80's hair metal ballad, & then it finishes off with the "growls from the underworld". i just like it because it catches me off guard. it's a quirky mix, & it's grown on me. :]

This is for sure going to be the biggest band in a year or two. The combination of singing, screaming, and roaring is amazing. I kind of agree with mbracethegutter with the meaning, it kind of sounds like a war song.

Thirded on the war song idea. I caught this band from a friend of mine, and the first thing he told me is that it's a... Halo song? Looking at the lyrics, I believe it...
"we've reached the covenate" "armed with explosives spartans stand alone"
Maybe, maybe not? dives for cover from possible flamers

This song is pretty much amazing. If its a Halo song, awesome. Either way its probably about a conflict, maybe subliminal internal conflict.

I know I'm going to sound dumb, but what do you mean by "Halo song"?

it is about halo ive met them and asked them
because i wanted to know myslef
