Vanishing Lyrics
A rabbit and a top hat
A hankerchief and ring
With a wave of a wand
He'll pull your heartstrings
He's a magician
Hoping, wishing
And you're the one vanishing
Isn't that the necklace
He found behind your ear?
He's floating upside-down
Below a chandelier
Wishing he had the power
To make you reappear
He's a magician
Hoping, wishing
And you're the one vanishing
All the words of love
He longs for you to hear
He whispers them each night
Into a lion's ear
Under the stage lights
At the Bellagio
He has got your card
But you had to fly home
He's a magician
Hoping, wishing
And you're the one vanishing
You are vanishing
You are vanishing
You are vanishing
You are vanishing
He's a magician
Hoping, wishing
And you're the one
You're the one
You're the one
You're the one vanishing
You are vanishing
You are vanishing
You are vanishing
You are vanishing
A hankerchief and ring
With a wave of a wand
He'll pull your heartstrings
Hoping, wishing
And you're the one vanishing
He found behind your ear?
He's floating upside-down
Below a chandelier
Wishing he had the power
To make you reappear
Hoping, wishing
And you're the one vanishing
He longs for you to hear
He whispers them each night
Into a lion's ear
Under the stage lights
At the Bellagio
He has got your card
But you had to fly home
Hoping, wishing
And you're the one vanishing
You are vanishing
You are vanishing
You are vanishing
Hoping, wishing
And you're the one
You're the one
You're the one
You're the one vanishing
You are vanishing
You are vanishing
You are vanishing

A great song by Kevin Hearn. This can be taken literally or metaphorically.
Literally, the song is about a Las Vegas magician who falls in love with a woman in the audience. Of course, she must go back home, leaving him with the thought of her forever. He never gets to express his feelings to her.
Metaphorically this is about a guy who usually has control over his relationships. He can make women fall for him through his charisma (he's the magician) and perhaps even money ("Isn't that a necklace he found behind your ear" could represent his buying of gifts for women). . But he falls for this one woman, and now she's the one that controls the relationship. She leaves him just as he's done to many a woman before.
I love Kevin's voice. He's my favortie singer ever. Not to mention a fantastic song writer.
I think that the man is a guy that does well with women (he'll pull your heart strings). And he fell for this girl. Now here's where I'm torn. It can either be that she doesn't feel the same way or that she is just distant. You know, she loves him but she's not trying hard enough to make the relationship work out, leaving him hanging (he's got your card but you had to fly home). So the guy never gives up and wants to keep it going. But she just keep 'vanishing'. And he keeps hoping and wishing for her to come back.
Or it could be that they broke up and he's not over her and she over him...I love songs with more than one meaning...Great job on the writing Kevin...
