Peterborough And The Kawarthas Lyrics
I left you in the rain
Peterbourgh and the Kawarthas
Your Reflection in the pane
Peterbourgh and the Kawarthas
Apples, pears, prunes, and plums
His favorites foods I told his mom
Wait for him at the end of the slide
When he climbs the stairs, stay by his side
I heard you got some rain
Peterbourgh and the Kawarthas
Look like we're in for the same
Peterbourgh and the Kawarthas
I'm going early won't wave good-bye
Tell him I love him; look him in the eye
I've learned how to mourn; I've learned how to miss
Let me dissapear with this kiss
"Tuesday
A mix of sun and cloud
With a forty percent chance of showers
Early morning then sunny
Wind west twenty kilometers an hour
Gusting to 44
High of 22
UV index 50 and moderate"
Bird ,book ,and basketball
Squirrel, dog and learning how to crawl
I found my heart when he came
Let me leaving leave like rain
I watched you from the train
Peterbourgh and the Kawarthas
When I come back I'll see you again
Peterbourgh and the Kawarthas
I'll listen for you every morning
I'll listen for you every morning
I'll listen for you every morning
I'll listen for you every morning
Peterbourgh and the Kawarthas
Your Reflection in the pane

So the dumb American Googled "The Kawarthas" in an attempt to figure out what this song is about and got...a weather report! LOL, I thought that was rather appropriate.
(If anyone else was wondering, it seems to be a region in Ontario. Peterborough is a town there.)
Anyway, now that I've worked that out, I think this is actually a pretty straightforward song about leaving his baby behind (to tour?), missing the baby, hoping he's well taken care of.
Oh course THe Kawarthsa is in Peterborough Ontario you dimwit! I love this song- terribly sad and very lyrical. I agree about the leaving of the little boy behind
I think it's supposed to be mum. Are not the canadians part of the commonwealth? In Australia we spell it the english way. And Mum rhymes better with plum anyway.
A great song. About someone leaving a town with his friend in it. Or its about a wife leaving her husband for a while and his mother has to take care of him. Or something like that.
I resubmitted these lyrics with "Peterborough" spelled correctly. Bow down, bitches.
Well done on the correct spelling.
Jim does well in this song, I must say. Better than Inline Bowline.
I didn't know that Jim could sing this welll. I like it.
yeah seriously, WOW. Creegan ROCKED. I think he could be better than some of the other lead vocals at times. Had no idea this was about canada. Thanks for the info. good stuff.
Jim is indeed an awesome underrated and sadly underused vocalist in the Ladies...
For further reference of his vocals, he released a few albums with his brother and former bandmember Andy Creeggan under the Creeggan Brothers... Anna on the Moon is soooo beautiful and definitely worth listening.
The song is all gibberish to me, I can listen to it all day but I would still be stuck on the lyrics...
